Reading that recently got me thinking, do I think too much. Am I stressed. That said, I’m generally happy by disposition, but i guess I do suffer from the same worries as most, but it’s never really about me.
I was shocked though, at the amount of people suffering out there, and in silence. That for me is very worrying, and when a younger person takes their life for whatever reason, diminishes me and makes me feel small.
So I think we ( my wife and I ) have done something preemptive, we jumped off ‘the wheel’ in 2015 and now we enjoy a simpler, less complicated life.
But is that selfish, well no. Why, because I didn’t expect everyone to ‘get on board’ with my choices, suffice to say that the merest mention of selling up and moving aboard a canal boat was met with rapturous applause.
It was my wife who put the house on the market and a friend secured us our 58 foot narrow boat.
My family, my Wife, Daughter and I embraced it and although my daughter serves in our armed forces for the last 5 years, we grabbed the bull by the horns, set an imaginary sail and the rest is history.
We moved on board within 3 months, and we do not miss bricks and mortar one bit.
