i literally feel so much better about my physical tbr after reading this. im glad someone else saves certain books for certain seasons and its not just me! 😅
So I keep a spreadsheet of all the books I own, and in it I include if I’ve read them or not. I’ve never counted my unread books but this video inspired me to, and let’s say I regret that 😭 I’m at 357 unread books out of 625 🙃
THIS MADE ME FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ABOUT MY UNREAD BOOKS, i appreciate you sharing this!! a lot of people feel shame about this exact thing but book buying/collecting is its own fun hobby in my opinion lol. your shelves are so pretty!
In 2023, one of my reading 'goals' for the year is to never have over 10 books on my physical tbr - and as of now, I somehow have been able to follow trough with that. My current tbr is at 7.
It’s interesting you have all the books mixed together on your shelves. I have piles of unread books in my closet. It’s like shopping in there when I look for my next read 😂
Your videos are ultimate comfort. Also your physical tbr makes me feel so much better about mine 😂 By the way... How did I never notice how absolutely stunning your eyes are?! You're so pretty I can't
The Wishing Game is a cute heartwarming book and What Lies in the Woods is good if you’re in the mood for a thriller. I have about 10 botm books I need to read too! Anatomy and the sequel is so good! I know you’ll love them since the time period is right up your alleyㅤᵕ̈
Eye of the Dragon is my favorite King book! Just keep in mind he wrote it for his children, so it's a much different style than the rest of his books. A Tale of Two Cities starts a little slow but is actually really good once you get past the first few chapters (plus then you'll be used to the writing style). Babel is good, but it's very heavy handed on it's message (still very much worth the read!) Good luck reaching your TBR under 50 goal!
i have 36 tbr books (out of about 230 owned books so i think that's pretty good!) managed to cut it down from about 50 at the start of the year so i'm pleased with that
i like to keep my physical tbr low because if it’s too many it makes me feel anxious because i feel pressured to read them immediately (idk why, it’s dumb) so my physical tbr is usually less than 15 books, which feels more manageable to me!
Videos like this make me want to become a book tuber lol I have so many books on my physical TBR , love your videos and you helped me get out of my book slump, can’t wait for the next video!
I think I have about 35 unread physical books right now, but definitely will be going shopping for some autumn reads soon which will bring it up again...
I love watching these videos because it gives me some good book idea recommendations. I have 11 books on my physical/kindle tbr. I just finished Clockwork Prince so it was 12. I have to eventually go through my kindle on what classic books I have so I can also put those on my tbr. A good idea to help with lowering the amount on your physical tbr you have is putting them on your patroen's buddy reads as well as the book club picks each month plus I also saw some good ones you could of used for some good theme vlogs like Summer reads and Summerween ideas. As always a great vlog from the lovely katie and hope you are having a great summer, some great reads as well, and slowly starting our August read for the next book club pick.
Literally!!! It’s actually so overwhelming how many books I haven’t read on my physical tbr but like kindle just distracts me so bad that I legit never read my physical it’s so bad😭😭😅
I have 22 unread books on my tbr, but I only read like 20/30 books a year and I always get about 10 books for my Birthday and Christmas, so 22 is a lot for me...I try to only buy 15 books a year from this year on so I have a chance to get my tbr under 10 books at the end of the year. Guess it will be hard but this way I don't feel overwhelmed
You have really interesting titles to be read! I currently have 26 books on my physical tbr📚 I've been reading a lot this summer and will probably buy new books soon🌼
you musttt read the bloody chamber, I read it in a film lit class that focused on fairy tales and that book slaps, Angela Carter is so weird and awesome
if it makes you feel any better, over half of my owned books are unread. i have 451 books and 246 are unread according to my storygraph (though some of those are extra editions or physical versions of something i listened to on audio. storygraph doesn’t mark all editions as read so they would still show up as unread). I always say i’m a book collector and reader and those things don’t always overlap 😂 i listen to a lot on audio and therefor a lot of my physical books get neglected.
my physical tbr is at 108 books... which is not ideal. it's remained at that sort of number for a while, but i'm trying to get it down a bit because it's like 34% of all of my books
planning on doing this type of video before i move in october and i already know you're doing SO much better than me and i'm only a few minutes into the video lmao
Start reading the AGGGTM series and please make a reading blog. I am currently reading this series, on the second book now. I would love to see your reactions.
Katie, are you ready for this? You're gonna feel so good about yourself 😅 I have...139 unread books on my shelves 😭💀judge me all you want, it's awful lol
10:12 I’m reading assassins apprentice right now and it’s so good, when u do eventually get to reading it I think you’ll like it. It’s definitely a slower book bc robin hobb rights slower paced fantasy but it’s so interesting and very well written
You should prioritize The Wishing Game especially if you like Willy Wonka. It was so good and there were parts of that book that made me tear up (and I do not normally cry whilst reading). And it's so short so you can honestly read it in a day. As for unread tbrs, I counted mine at the begiining of the year and I was just under 80. I have been prioritizing my physical tbr and I haven’t bought that many books this year so I hope the number is lower than that. But I'm like you, I like having a higher number of unread books so I have options. I don't want my number to get down to zero.
I have 630 unread books on my TBR- but I have about 2600 total books in my apartment. My goal is always to get my TBR down by about 100 but I tend to buy a lot as well 😂
I have 70 books on my physical tbr which feels like too many but I also love having so many options at any given moment. Also im still excited to read all of them so I’m counting that as a win lol!
I have 23 books on my tbr currently, I'm on a book bying ban till I read all of them. But my wishlist of books gets bigger like every day with 60 books now 😅
I am so unorganized after seeing this haha my bookshelf is so awful and I have piles of books everywhere I need to get organized lol but I absolutely love your videos and now I need to count my tbr books because I have so many ❤
I currently have 35 books on my physical tbr. Which sounds really low at first but..... I don't own that many books so my unread books make up 30% of all books I currently own. Plus, I've been tracking my physical tbr per month since the beginning of 2023 and on January 1st I had only 26 unread books on my physical tbr soooo..... 😶 To be fair though, I've simply started reading more and more books from my library this year which is good but doesn't help me cut down my own physical tbr either 😭😂
I think my physical bookshelves have about 210 ish read (I give a lot away when I am done) and about 45 unread. It's the nonphysical TBR that is my serious issue, lol!
do you wanna do a read all of your arc books video like a reading vlog just to see how many you can do within a 24 hour/48 hour challenge or even a weekly vlog
Oof, don’t feel bad Katie, at least you’re not in the triple digits! (I am most definitely in the triple digits, but at least I’ve read over 50% of the books I own???😅)
I have in total 170 books, only 50 read😫 i want to cut it down to an acceptable number so i can buy myself a kindle to read English fantasy books (super expensive in our bookstores😬)
i was feeling bad about having 10 books on my physical tbr and i’m just now discovering that other people basically have a personal bookstore in their home 😳
I think the last time I counted my physical TBR, it was about 120 books 😅I've been really trying to slow down on the book buying just because this has been a slower reading year for me
i literally feel so much better about my physical tbr after reading this. im glad someone else saves certain books for certain seasons and its not just me! 😅
I do this too!!
I do it too
Watching this immediately so I feel less bad about mine 😅❤
Smae
I have 153 😭
Same I have 203 😂😂
Ditto!
@@melanievanderdonk1881 uh--?? 😭 i have always thought my tbr was worse☠
I have 14 books unread books on my shelves and I’m overwhelmed honestly 😂
I have 18 and always stressed what to read next.😅
reading books and buying books are two different hobbies and i stand by that! 😂
agreed! haha
So I keep a spreadsheet of all the books I own, and in it I include if I’ve read them or not. I’ve never counted my unread books but this video inspired me to, and let’s say I regret that 😭 I’m at 357 unread books out of 625 🙃
Gosh I thought I was bad at like 100ish 😂😂😂❤❤❤
If it helps you feel any better...I'm at 368!
I’m accomplishing my whole physical tbr this year before buying anymore books. Is is SO HARD. 💕
“I’m saving this for fall” famous last words 🤞
The Good Girl’s Guide series is SOOOOOO GOOD!! I read mine in about 3 days…
I currently have 13 unread books in my collection, but I have worked very hard this year to make that happen!
Same
my biggest flex is that i only buy one (maybe two) books at a time, read them immediately and then put them on my shelf so i have no physical tbr 😭😭😭
honestly goals!! Used to be this person, trying to get back there hahaha
I think I have between 30 and 50 books in my unread physical TBR...but so many more books on my want to read list😍
The night circus, I've read the book. You should be looking forward to read it. Amazing story and a really great author. Sending much of love
less than 400 books is definitely not too many!! i have hundreds of unread ones bc i keep. going. to. the. library. like WHYYYY
I don't know how you plan to get your physical TBR from 300 to 50 books but I will root for you anyway 😅
Best of luck to you {and everyone else here} in reducing the TBR, It is a journey which hardly no one expects to actually accomplish...
It’s interesting you have all the books mixed together on your shelves. I have piles of unread books in my closet. It’s like shopping in there when I look for my next read 😂
Your videos are ultimate comfort. Also your physical tbr makes me feel so much better about mine 😂
By the way... How did I never notice how absolutely stunning your eyes are?! You're so pretty I can't
I loveeee how many cool editions of everything you have. Where do you usually shop for books?? These editions are all such goals!

The Bloody Chamber is sooo so good! I did it for my A Levels and I genuinely loved it. She's an amzing author!
i have 30 unread books i feel like the TBR is never ending
Same bro, same. I'm freaking overwhelmed by these 30 books😭
Bro my is 60
i have 36 tbr books (out of about 230 owned books so i think that's pretty good!) managed to cut it down from about 50 at the start of the year so i'm pleased with that
I needed this, I was bored out of my mind thank you
i was JUST rewatching your reading vlogs, wondering when you will upload again 😭❤
i like to keep my physical tbr low because if it’s too many it makes me feel anxious because i feel pressured to read them immediately (idk why, it’s dumb) so my physical tbr is usually less than 15 books, which feels more manageable to me!
Videos like this make me want to become a book tuber lol I have so many books on my physical TBR , love your videos and you helped me get out of my book slump, can’t wait for the next video!
yessss Jane Eyre! its so good, can't wait to see you read it!
I think I have about 35 unread physical books right now, but definitely will be going shopping for some autumn reads soon which will bring it up again...

I loved this vlog! 🥰 I would absolutely love if this would become a regular thing 😄
Literally!!! It’s actually so overwhelming how many books I haven’t read on my physical tbr but like kindle just distracts me so bad that I legit never read my physical it’s so bad😭😭😅
Oh my god Katie, Hester is so good!! It's easily my favorite book of 2023 so far.
I have only a few but I love watching other people's tbr's. ❤❤
never wanna miss any of your videos, just making me happy🥰
I have 22 unread books on my tbr, but I only read like 20/30 books a year and I always get about 10 books for my Birthday and Christmas, so 22 is a lot for me...I try to only buy 15 books a year from this year on so I have a chance to get my tbr under 10 books at the end of the year. My TBR looks similar and I just bought over 30 books while being back home in Germany on Vacation. 🙈🤣 So my TBR seems to grow instead of shrink.
You have really interesting titles to be read!
I currently have 26 books on my physical tbr📚 I've been reading a lot this summer and will probably buy new books soon🌼
My physical TBR has been consistently 17 this entire year and it stresses me out😂 This is coming from someone whose TBR was always 4 or 5 max
23 unread books on my tbr, but that's just all the books I could pack when I moved across the world
Emma - Jane Austen is soooo good!!!
I NEED to see your Twilight editions!
I recently stumbled upon your channel and I just love it!!! I hope more people discover your chanel❤
6:09 omg you have to read them and pls make a vlog (I recently read them and need to see more ppl reacting to them)
I have 9 unread books right now! Hoping to read them before the year is out! ❤
Wild is the witch and The Wicked Deep are really good.
you musttt read the bloody chamber, I read it in a film lit class that focused on fairy tales and that book slaps, Angela Carter is so weird and awesome

i went back in and looked through and determined ~30 of the unread books are either coffee table books or a book i have read in another format.
You should definitely try jane eyre! The first 100 pages are a little slow, but it only gets better
I like to track my physical tbr on notion, I have 24 unread books! I like to keep it smaller as I have very limited space :p
my physical tbr is at 108 books... which is not ideal. it's remained at that sort of number for a while, but i'm trying to get it down a bit because it's like 34% of all of my books

I'm so impressed you had so few for your TBR. I have yet to count how many is unread but i know i have read at least 50% of the 712 books i own 😅
Hope you love Night Circus🎪. I think I’ve read it 3 times. Starless Sea as well. Great atmosphere vibes.
Katie, are you ready for this? You're gonna feel so good about yourself 😅 I have...139 unread books on my shelves 😭💀judge me all you want, it's awful lol
Came to the comment section to see if anyone else is in the triple digits....128 here....my goal is to get it under 100 within the next 6-12 months
Can't wait to see what you think of The night circus and Jane Eyre!
I have 1 book in my physical tbr and I'm surprised at the amount of books people just have and put off reading
10:12 I’m reading assassins apprentice right now and it’s so good, when u do eventually get to reading it I think you’ll like it. It’s definitely a slower book bc robin hobb rights slower paced fantasy but it’s so interesting and very well written

you should tandem read tower of dawn and empire of storms because the events of both books are happening at the same time
I currently have about 60😀
I also have around 80 unread books on my tbr
In my shelf i have around 85 unread books and 110 read books lol, i feel like every bookworm is like this
i've been on a bit of a book-buying kick this summer so my physical tbr is up to 65 books 😭😬
The way I had a feeling there's going to be a Katie video today
I have 70 books on my physical tbr which feels like too many but I also love having so many options at any given moment. Also im still excited to read all of them so I’m counting that as a win lol!
You haveee to read a good girls guide to murder series!! It's so good and it's the series that got me into reading last year.
I have 23 books on my tbr currently, I'm on a book bying ban till I read all of them. But my wishlist of books gets bigger like every day with 60 books now 😅
That is totally a win, girl. I have 29 unread books. I know what you mean. I'm trying to get it down more for myself. 👻
I am so unorganized after seeing this haha my bookshelf is so awful and I have piles of books everywhere I need to get organized lol but I absolutely love your videos and now I need to count my tbr books because I have so many ❤
I added a shelf to my good reads for my physical tbr books and I have 98 😂
I have almost 1500 books and certainly not 30% have been read... so i have no expectations to down my unread books to 0 and I'm fine with this fact
i have 75 unread books out of 200 😅 but it definitely used to be worse so im making progress!!
The only reason I have so few books on my physical tbr is because I’m a broke teenager and mostly read library books lol
Girl literally if you haven't read BABEL then maybe you should because it's SO GOOD MAN SO GOOD
Your videos are so calming :)
I currently have 35 books on my physical tbr. Which sounds really low at first but..... I don't own that many books so my unread books make up 30% of all books I currently own. I feel like you are doing pretty good, I’ve seen some of these videos by other people and it’s like their whole book collection is un-read.
what kind of edition is the twiligt saga they look amazing !!!
I think my physical bookshelves have about 210 ish read (I give a lot away when I am done) and about 45 unread. It's the nonphysical TBR that is my serious issue, lol!
I have 9 books in my physical TBR
if you don't pick up the poppy war immediately ...
i feel like you will love it!
do you wanna do a read all of your arc books video like a reading vlog just to see how many you can do within a 24 hour/48 hour challenge or even a weekly vlog
IMLOVED FOUL LADY FOURTUNE YOU SHOULD READ IT!
i did start build my librery so i have 50 books read and 9 unread ones ( i am a slow reader in cuz i am a new reader lol )
You're doing better than me! I probably have over 1,000 books (this includes manga & novels) on my physical TBR and another 1,000 on my Kindle.
Oof, don’t feel bad Katie, at least you’re not in the triple digits! (I am most definitely in the triple digits, but at least I’ve read over 50% of the books I own???😅)
Ana Luisa (Lweesuh not Lohweesuh) is so nice!! Just wanted to show the pronunciation, it’s actually my moms name.
I have 84 books on my physical tbr. I should probably stop buying books until I get through them.
of course my bookshelves are not as filled as yours 😅 but i have 7 unread books out of like 45 ish books
My family doesn't let me purchase new books if I haven't read the ones I already have😂
I have a total of 52 unread books!
I think the last time I counted my physical TBR, it was about 120 books 😅I've been really trying to slow down on the book buying just because this has been a slower reading year for me
