I just finished Stalking Jack The Ripper and it was amazing! It's a historical mystery. There's no fantasy elements but as someone who doesn't really like historical fiction, I absolutely loved it!

Pieces of Her by Karin Slaughter and Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky were such amazing books! They were some of the first books that got me back into reading. My mom bought them for me for my birthday and I loved them so much. Imaginary Friend I didn't even realize was a chunky book once I got started. Love your videos!

i think kafka on the shore is the best place to start with murakami because it's half peaceful beautiful organic vibes and the other half is an oedipus retelling, and that juxtaposition is his whole brand, people always say norweigan wood but i hated norweigan wood, one of his most misogynistic books

To say this boon changed my life might be an over-statement, but it made me apply for a new job within the school I work at. No one knows how long their string (life) is, and I now have my dream job working with books at the school library and do monthly book reviews for a community magazine. It's a fast-paced read, short chapters, and likeable characters. Do not unhaul this book!! There's not enough out there on TH-cam about this book, but it's relatable and thought provoking. You're welcome!! Love your channel, big books scare me too but I have a summer of reading ahead, including A Secret History!!!

I read Into the Water back in 2019 and it's really good! I would definitely recommend you read it. You can make a series "Reading all the books *authors name* wrote". Paula Hawkins only has four books in total and one is a short novella so you could totally do it 🖤

Since you like books set in reality tv, I would recommend the charm offensive, it's a queer romance story, set in a show that is basically the bachelor, between the lead and a producer. It's one of my favorite romance books, but for some reason, it's not that popular

I kissed shara wheeler is sooooo good 🥰🥰 its just so much fun but also so heartfelt and aaahhhh. honestly ultimate like queer joy and celebration book!! I gave it 5 stars and I very rarely give 5 stars its just so fun ok. also love the falling in love montage its also super cutee and discusses some great other themes like choosing what to do after you finish school and also dealing with a parent suffering with dementia so it is quite deep as well:') also has one of my favourite tropes: the lesbian and her himbo so it's great
I've read first book RED QUEEN and didn't love it but kinda liked it...But everyone, literally everyone has told me that the series goes downhill with each book in the series. So, that's probably like one series I've dnf-ed. Also, maybe before reading A LITTLE LIFE , you can watch Clockwork Reader's vlog about it. She said some things that I think are important for anyone who's thinking of diving into that book.

I just read Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky and was so disappointed! It turned from creepy horror to Christian Fiction in the last 200 pages and I was not happy with that.
If you haven't read anything by Murakami just be warned, he can't write female characters - they are flat and vacuous. Just something to be aware of as it put me right off his books.
