I was born and raised 30 miles from New Orleans. I had my mind blown with my parents and grandparents, who were Irish American from NYC when I was 5 years old. My parents took us to eat in the French Quarter. We stumbled upon a Jazz funeral. Jazz funerals are a lot like Irish wakes, just less fighting lol.Anyway, hearing Jimi Hendrix and then the Sex Pistols and Pil changed my life. Then I discovered New Order and then Joy Division. I made several trips to Manchester because of them.(And early rave culture) Were they inspired by Peter Hook playing in New Orleans? Music is universal. This is so beautiful. I am beside myself that a New Orleans marching band would pay homage to the post punk pioneers from Manchester!!!!!
All right, OK, you’re right. It’s not easy, is it? It’s a great brass band regardless. Did you enjoy the show? I think that it was great. I’m looking fw to hearing Jacob Collier playing at Jools’ my guess is that they would sound great also. What instrument do you play if I might ask?
I played the guitar as well as the piano but not for long. My uncle was a fielder, we have a whole host of folk musicians as well from both sides and I’m a soprano. Nile Rodgers and the Chic were great weren’t they? OMG, they are my mom’s peers and they look great.
A fantastic rendition of one of the best songs ever released.

Don't think Ian Curtis would have ever imagined his music like this but he definitely would have some what enjoyed it. I fucking loved it
I remember watching this. Highlight of the night for me! Probably the craziest cover of the Joy Division classic ever!
Saw this on TV while on shrooms. Haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Thanks for a great memory 🙏

Wow, they're so flat - absolutely hilarious!
You mean like A flat G sharp of you are just winding the people up?
@@drania76 "Flat" as in off-key.

@@drania76 I can play the keyboard, and I can play a couple of chords on the guitar, but that's about it... I did still enjoy the show though!
