It bemuses me… the stuff Southgate gets !!! He’s taken a group of players … which in his first cup were written off before a ball was kicked! Look what he has achieved. The so called golden generation!! He’s gone further all other managers bar the great Sir Ramsay.. have failed to get near what Southgate’s has .. underachieved Bobby Robson .. never sustained this run of achievements .. Glenn hoddle looked like he was on right path so the media destroyed him.. your man said it .. would you take boring football but win the game or exciting football and lose! The Southgate management came are really clued up. I’m a sports psychologist.. and I have to take my hat off to them with what they do and the tools they use. The British media and the armchair manager fans .. love to tear people down, desperate for him to lose, so they can say I told you so. When he doesn’t it’s because he’s luck or it’s the players not him! If you want to talk about boring.. the let’s talk about how boring it is to listen to people who either don’t like Southgate’s just because he’s the England manager.. or every tournament we have the commentary mugging England off, talking about it being Southgate last ever game as England manager. Cos we are losing in a quarter final of a tournament! So you know if we do lose semi or final. They will be going for his head.. .. or Fanks booing an England win in a tournament… just go watch “Mike Basset England manager” they show you it there.. yes we want to be entertained .. yes we want to see beautiful football… but I would swap that for trophies any day… everyone has their opinion, I just feel this bash the national side just getting “boring”… let’s just see what happens ..
Well said mate. 100 percent agree with everything you said. All these old school fans and pundits cant see southgate for what hes worth and thats pound for pound the best england manager weve ever had. His record speaks for itself. Its not the players that have got him there either. In my opinion england had better players with the likes of rooney scholes gerard lampard beckham etc. I lived the last days of those players england career coming to an end and it was painfully shocking they never looked solid as a team. In my opinion if southgate had those players today hed have already won 2 tournaments.
When southgate leaves well see the extent of his managing and well be back to square one mark my words. England will be the downfall of its own destiny like it always has been and its sad when clearly even in just glimpses of southgate bringing the country together we see what we can achieve. Yet we continue to spout crap at the players and manager no matter the outcome. Weve been in finals for the most part of the past decade. Realise that and get behind the team or well never win anything.
