I’ve been really curious about just how good Ryu actually is now, but everyone’s (understandably) been more interested in playing the new releases of Akuma and Bison first. So this is fun to see.

I've been trying to replicate that combo from your opening scene, and for some reason Jury doesn't kite as high when I tried to go into the jumping medium punch. What the hell am I doing wrong?
Surprised u're not using fHP, which is a big part of Ryu's kit now. +3 on block is huge.
ya solar plex is Ryu's bread and butter.
Is it still in a high lvl of play? Bc the start up for the solar plexus strike is too long and slow.
@@PROTOHYPER-X u have a prox block move that has +3 on block. And the prox block range is huge.
U don't throw it willy nilly, u have to condition with stHP, stMK, close range fireball.
It's used everywhere in high level play - look at YAS, Naruo, Paladin, semy, bigbird, machoortv.

Yup, the Solar plexus is catching people wiffing and I get counter hits most of the time for people who don't know it's +3 on block !
I believe Capcom could add more movements for Ryu, an air fireball, etc.

Its universal. Backdashes are invulnerable to throws

Already good character with absurd dmg downplayed for being too honest, gets buffed to the moon just to still be downplayed
I think it's bc u can link his special attacks now. Like donkey kick to shoyuken for example. Or hasho into shoryuken. When before, specoals would push ur opponent to far back making it impossible to link two specials.
