Hi Ananta, just wanna ask you a few things. I am pursuing my Bachelor's from one of the tier 1 colleges(IITs) and am in my pre-final year. Here the placements are not so great(for the current batch). So I was thinking to sit for Cat 2024 in my final year. Is it a good decision? Also want to ask that I do not have such a good CGPA here, so will they consider my college during internships/placements😅(ofc considering the very immature fact that i get into one of the top B-Schools)?

No. The companies provide a range of package and they shortlist the CVs based on profile.

do online courses related to business, finance and marketing. you can find good free courses online. try to get internships to improve your profile and also more experience in business related fields.

But Cat preparation ke saath cirtificate courses bhi kar rhaa hu (Tally, Ms office, Financial analyst)
Agr cat me achha score aagya too new iim ya fms mil sakte hain.
Aur MBA finance ke liye suitable hoo skta huu

can people having profiles like 8/9/6 get shortlists of finance domain companies ??, if not then it's beneficial to go with work ex in finance domain & meanwhile clearing some levels of CFA. Please guide
Some levels of CFA will help and work ex if it's exactly in the finance domain with good work. But usually only CA and CFAs get such roles before MBA. So you can focus on CFA

Do Companies visiting IIM's discriminate people basis the organization they hold work ex in. For ex- If someone holds work ex in Govt.sector like SBI PO vs Someone holding work-ex in Private firm,Will they be given same preference?
No not on the basis of govt. And private. It is more if you have a good brand name on your CV, that helps and if your role was good then that helps

Sure. Will cover that. But this is true for tier 2 and 3 as well. Opportunities might be limited there but doesn't mean only freshers are at a disadvantage

Sir I had converted SCMHRD Pune core MBA Program. And not understanding whether to take it or leave it. My major interview for IIMs are not happened yet! So what must be your opinion on that.
brother you can book your seat by paying. You can withdraw the fess and it will charge 5000 rupees. Just make sure to withdraw 15 days before day of admission. You can go and read it from the website.
Take it for now. The risk will be the security deposit which should not be too big!
For booking the seat they are asking 7.5 Lakhs. So that's why I am asking it. I'm a little concerned about it.

No it does not for indian bschools. Only thing is you should be able to justify it in the interview properly
Sir, I completed my graduation back in 2022 and will be having a total gap of 3 years if I join a B school next year, will this gap lead to a big problem or if I crack CAT with good score then it won't be a big deal.

Engineering entrance exams will require a maths paper so you need to prepare for maths as well for the entrance exams

I think any MBA course is sufficient enough for business knowledge.
For a Sales or Consultancy or General management role,no MBA is required.

Does not matter for finance as well. Academics ans theoretical knowledge about finance topics would be more important along with professional certifications like CA/CFA

Academics and theoretical knowledge matters more in Finance. If you have professional certifications like CA, CFA you will be preferred. Andeither work ex exactly in finance domain or it doesn't matter

Academics and theoretical knowledge matters more in finance. Also certifications like CA, CFA. Work ex matters only if you have very specific work experience but only CAs or degree holders have that anyway. So apart from that it does not matter

MBA is usually hectic. So I would not recommend it but yeah people have done it in the past

Depends on your capability. If you think you can get into top colleges next year then drop. Otherwise tapmi is good. Fore is ok ok. Tapmi is better than fore.

Bro you can easily score above 95 if you'll start now ...I scored 96%ile with just 3 months of dedicated preparation...and I think if I can do it then anyone can do it ... Hindi background, 5-7-5 profile as I was a below average student till graduation...
