Definitely an old-style KO list. I think the new set lists are going to need to rely heavily on having that first dive in. If im not mistaken, KO has an out of phase movement tech and you can take a couple ways to get insane damage output on a charge

Honestly, for the better. Old KO was basically quite non interactive for your opponent unless they had a lot of ranged/speed. It became a game of shooting gallery against slow armies and just hoping to do enough damage to clear them off of objectives. Now they have to actually play the game which is better for everyone, KO included.

I've preordered my battletome for KO (My only army right now, still painting). I'm glad to see, even in defeat, a part of their new mechanics firsthand. I'll rendezvous with you at the next battlefield.
I like the little cutaway on the side showing the unit as you say what they do. I don't remember noticing that in the few vids I've watched in the past.

Any ideas from @seasonofwar or @Carl how to beat Khorne for KO armies 😂 ? I knew the match up was not favorable, but with the new BT it's even more difficult. Khorne units have so much normal + extra move now that they are on the close combat in T1 with a lot of MW, which KO does not appretiate. They also have good shots with the cannon and invocation of units can close the game t3 or t4. I usually run 2 frigates, navigator, arkanaut, thunderers, riggers but it does not look better... Thanks for your thoughts !
Im very curious about what carl thinks about skywardens! I love the ability to retreat after combat a d output seems even better then endriniggers with 2" weapon!!:)
Skywardens are good now, put barak-zon as sub faction and yeet 9 skywardens in a frigate with a endrinmaster with bombs and an admiral and 1st turn charge and watch it die, its easy to charge with the frigate since you can 3D6 charge, do mortals on hit, and let them jump out and engage enemy with assault boat ability, skywardens get a 2'' 2+ 2+ -2 2 damage stat, + -1 rend with Admiral ability, and they'll destroy everything they touch, endrinmaster can also do lots of MW with the artifact yeah its difficult to not make a shooty only list anymore since combat is now more viable with KO

I guess we'll see with new Khorne and the eventual new Cities if they are just keeping Coalition limited or are going to move away from it.

So... Skarbrand just deleted the big block of Arkanauts and the KO player is just like "Nah, I won't focus fire him. It'll be fine." And then not even use his Navigator's ability to slow Skarbrand down, even though he knew about that 6" pile-in? Sorry but that was just hard to watch. Very poor tactical play here on the KO part.
Skarbrand doesn't fly. If one of the boomthirster does 2 sixes, then it is 8 mortal wounds for everything inside 8"... thus killing everything. Skarbrand can kill only one thing.
@@squigdwarf Doesn't matter, the Navigator can slow down any unit (doesn't need to fly). Getting two sixes is also incredibly unlikely on the Boomthirster. Do you honestly think that a normal Thirster is a higher priority target than Skarbrand, who is pretty much the ONLY unit in the entire book that keeps BoK a somewhat viable choice for tourneys? Sorry good sir, but no, I disagree. Skarbrand - especially if he fights twice AND can pile in 6" - will just wreck whatever he touches. KO should have killed him asap but didn't and payed the obvious price.
I think Carl did a fine job. If you watched at the end of the game. They analyzed their game and went over key points. You sounded harsh from that comment. Didn't really considered adapting to a new book will take time.
Great match but wow it seems they honestly nerfed the living heck out of KO. Khorne's book is so far out of date, but had no issue wiping the floor with the KO team.

KO changed to a mixed army of shooting and combat. Will have to change our mindset! Kiting is a lot harder on 12" range shooting.

He didnt really use the best stuff they have... The new frigates are whats badass and skywardens.

I don't think this was an ideal KO list - we'll be looking to add to our KO collection in the future to expand what we can run!
