Should Federal Employees Invest in the C Fund at an All Time High?

The C Fund in the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) hit an all time high recently and I have had people asking if they should invest when the C fund is at an all time high. This is a great question to consider and some historical data can help answer the question for us.

I work with a guy who has been riding the G fund for the past couple years and told me he made a mistake not buying in last Oct when the market was down. Now he feels it’s too late. I kept telling him…dude, todays high is tomorrows low. When I started the S&P was near record highs around 600. Look what I would have missed out on. He refuses to listen and still riding the G. At least he’s pulling 4%…for now.
