"I am the very model of a modern major general..."
Actually, I knew this because of a funny story. When I was ten or eleven, I was walking home from school and I passed a neighbor who was out on his driveway who seemed to be painting some styrofoam blocks. Me, being the curious kid that I was, asked him what he was doing. He said that he was putting on a production for a play and he was creating set pieces. The styrofoam blocks were supposed to be gravestones, but before he could paint them grey, he needed to glue on tissue paper so the paint would stick. I asked him if I could help, and he graciously accepted. After an hour or so, I said I needed to go home, and he gave me a flyer to come to the play.
Sure enough, the play was Pirates of Penzance. I never did make it to the play, but years later, I heard Tom Leher's Elements Song which was the intro music for a radio show that ran here in Canada for Dr. Joe Schwarcz's "The Dr. Joe Show". I looked up the song, and recognized the source from that childhood experience. Since then, I've come to love Gilbert and Sullivan songs, especially The Ruler of the Queen's Navy from H.M.S. Pinafore, and Three Little Maids from School Are We from The Mikado.
This question seems a lot easier than the weird opera one on "normal" Jeopardy today.
The answers for final Jeopardy are more challenging.
@@saulchapnick1566 the one he’s talking about was also a final jeopardy
Well done Yogesh.🎉
Jeopardy forever
My proudest buzzer beater moment as a fan! I realized it at the last second! Haha!
the lone “WHAT” from yogesh made me chuckle
Like so many others, I knew it was either Penafore or Penzance. Sadly, like so many others, I went with the wrong one.
I knew it was one or the other. Maritime rhyme. No pirate's booty for me!
Now that Yogesh has improved his buzzer technique, he is dangerous. I am surprised Amodio is not scoring better.
The thing with Matt is that he is an extremely high risk, high reward player. That's pretty much his motto, and as a result, he either dominates his games or crashes and burns; seemingly very little in between. And unfortunately I think with the combo of James plus Victoria and Yogesh his confidence may be shot a bit.
I thought HMS Pinafore...... Drats!!!
That's what I guessed, too.
Ugh. Wouldn't you know it I guessed the other show 'HMS Pinafore'. Well opened in England and I figured the time period for Gilbert and Sullivan. Just got the wrong one.
Same!
Omg! I didn't know there was a tournament fun
Me too....
Fun fact: Counting the Great Exhibit game, Yogesh is the third non-millionaire to defeat Matt Amodio and Amy Schneider and was the second to defeat them in a runaway. The first was Mattea Roach, who defeated Matt and Amy in a runaway. Andrew He was the official first non-millionaire to defeat Matt and Amy in game 1 of the Masters tournament last year. Yogesh now also defeated three superchampions: James, Matt, and Amy, all of which were runaways!
Yogesh is really good (knowledgeable) great Jeopardy player !
It’s from Pinafore!
It’s from Penzance! Don’t lecture me about Gilbert and Sullivan!
I hate to stick my head in the lion’s mouth, but were you the recording secretary of the Princeton Gilbert and Sullivan Society?
Jonathan Fisher would've known this!
Me ...
I got this Final Jeopardy! clue right.
