There’s something different- shortly after the Rihanna bomb dropped Love was sold out everywhere. I had been trying to buy it because I was making my way through one of their travel spray sizes of it quickly so I remember the only size you could buy for a while was the giant decanter. Then months later this one came out in the white bottle. I ordered a travel spray from Sephora a couple of weeks ago and it’s a completely different color. When I catch the sillage, it does smell basically the same, but when I inhale it deeply side by side the rich creaminess of the old one is gone in the new lighter juice. It’s like the bottom has been cut out of the scent. I do still enjoy the sugary top but lament missing my chance to buy more of the old version 💔
Officially Kilian himself has said it’s because of the natural ingredients and the juice should darken over time. He said there hasn’t been a reformulation. From what I’ve seen it’s a mix of opinions on performance differences. Some say it’s weaker some find no difference.
not true, I tried some of the new batches, they are so weak compared to the original batches. I want and even bought older refills, cause this brand is going to the dumpster.
I've never heard of the brand , so it was great to learn more about them and the comparison to the kilian , still for me sweet redemption is the better orange blossom scent from kilian 👑
I have a Love in the newer white bottle. When I first received it, it was a pale yellow hue and I was super disappointed. It has gradually turned darker over time - now a medium orange. I have the original black bottle with the deeper orange color to compare. Initially, my white bottle did smell lighter compared to my black bottle but it's now getting close to the black one. I'm guessing it's what someone else commented - vanillin getting darker over time and smelling "richer" with age. It happened to my bottle of Mugler Angel Essence Absolu, another fragrance with vanillin - the liquid is dark brown, almost black compared to light brown color it had when I first purchased it. I would say, like real love, Love gets better over time :D
Hi Sebastian. I have Au Pays De La Fleur Oranger Intense and I love it. What a gorgeous creamsicle fragrance, sparkling and ready for the next wedding reception party. Love it. I love neroli - it is a concentrated orange blossom which I love. It is not too sweet. I have no need for the Love Don’t Be Shy fragrance just because I know the quality of APDLFO is beautiful.

So many sad reformulations! Case in point for me: Kalemat Black! I never got to try the old version, but my new bottle has weak juice! I heard if you can get the version that is all in Arabic, it is still strong. But I don’t know how..
I have noticed the different of love don't be shy 2 years ago it was much darker now it much lighter I love sweet sences the narolli hope I'm spelling it right I've never tried now a days it very hard to get samples I use to get many not no more which I would really like to get I love don't be shy and The new Valentino I just love florials and sweet purfumes but I like intense the other day when you show and were talking of the 20 different purfumes I never tired strange but true thank you Sebastian for you honest reviews

My juice is the same color as your Love fragrance . I purchased it from Nordstrom’s recently. I was told be a Kilian sales associate the perfume wasn’t reformulated.
They always say it's not reformulated, cause it's kinda not allowed to reformulated a fragrance but sell it under the same name, so that always say that it's not reformulated, I had the same with other fragrances like Angel Men by Mugler which smells completely different now
I tried love dont be shy in selfridges at the kilian counter and fell absolutely in love with it when it was in the Black bottle but i never purchased at the time. Months later i went back to sample it again... but it was in the new white bottle. Immediately noticed that it didn't smell the same a i kept asking if i was still smelling love dont be shy. (I thought he was spraying something different by mistake ) Eventually i didnt purchace again because the scent made me so confused i started to doubt myself on my first experience. Now i can understand why i was feeling so underwhlemed because there is a majour difference in scent. It doesn't give me that exhilaration that it used to do.

Before the Rihanna moment ☺️, LBDS bottle was not sold as often, so the juice was already darker than today. I bought one at a Kilian corner in Printemps last May the juice was light and I received my back up bottle yesterday from Sephora, and the juice is darker : same smell . I hope it helps !
I have Kilian LDBS and used it over the years and have not found the formulation to act any different on my skin. Still the heavenly fragrance it has always been with amazing sillage! I get compliments everytime I have it on. An absolute love! Recommended it to tons of friends and they went nuts over it too lol
I never experienced the old black bottle of the Love but I got the white bottle of Love directly from the NY Kilian boutique. The juice of my bottle is slightly darker than your. It’s still not as dark as the Neroli Blanc Intense. I haven’t try anything from Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger. The ‘new’ Love still have very decent performance on me, 8+ hours and decent projection. I got compliments from it.
I agree with your comparison. I also discovered Au Pays de la fleur d'oranger through Beauty Habit! A shame they don't carry it anymore. I bought my bottle from the official French website as soon as i finished my samples. I much prefer it over the Killian because I don't like my white floral fragrances to be too sweet.

I hate it when perfume companies do this try and save money by using cheaper or less amounts of perfume or oils to make a profit, people will catch on and stop buying it. The same thing happened to givenchy en desence it used to smell so different when it first came out then the company changed the formula and I stopped buying it.

Well, Killian Paris has been sold to Estee Lauder ☹️ I also had noticed that ever since, the quality of some scents dropped and their sillage tends to disspear nowadays... very sad indeed.... it was such a fantastic brand of true olofactory art and the estethics of the entire concept behind it was one of a kind. I just hope that MFK house will never sell itself to some cosmetic giant! 🙏

I just bought Sana by Blend Oud. It has a similar orange blossom as Love, without the woods. Love was great in heat, but Sana dies.

So you have a legit bottle unfortunately - something has definitely changed at Kilian. Such a shame. I will be cherishing my older bottle now for sure 😊❤️

Dont purchase Kilian’S GGGB please, without testing over the counter. I have been using this perfume 2 years ago. Now it is significantly different: weaker, more dirty-patchouli type of scent. The old one had freshness and sweetness in it, and now it lasts only for 10 minutes 🥺
I bought Neroli Blanc Intense back when I first saw it on your channel (2014-ish) and am nearing the end of my bottle. For me it's the gold standard of Neroli. Love. It. I don't even need/want to smell the by Kilian, that brand is too overpriced imho, lol! The only other perfume I've sampled that had the "right" kind of neroli (meaning like the one in Neroli blanc intense) was V&A Neroli Amara. I don't remember that one being nearly as robust/strong or sweet and juicy though.

Try PS&D I think they might have some stock. Can't guarantee though. I think the brand is a bit slowing down so much less distribution.

112 euros to dollars? Would be around $135 give or take. Moderate longevity but I certainly get better performance than with LDBS. :)

I bought a bottle of ldbs from Kilian and it was that color but it’s getting darker! Maybe these were made fresh before they got sent out!
