I found him three weeks ago. It’s official. I’m obsessed. He’s amazing. A poet, a musician and actor and what he’s overcome. I was violet even with the twins. But I escaped with them before he killed me. That song hits hard
It always takes more than one listen to really embrace his work, usually many. Thankfully that is a pleasure !! You're very incisive and picked up a lot from a first listen of what has become probably my favourite track from the Sick Boi album. I think creating some of the music on that album has been cathartic for him too. Sadly he had to abandon filming of the next Trilogy after losing sight in one eye for 3 days which onset during a video shoot and sent him to Emergency Room. MRI scans also revealed chronic nerve inflammation in his back, symptoms of his chronic condition no doubt exacerbated by stress and burnout. Which the Kujo Beats situation probably contributed a lot to. He was trying to finish some projects before returning to Canada for intensive antibiotic treatment of Bartonella co-infection persisting from his Lyme Disease which he had found out about just before his first live show in 5 years this Summer but pushed through anyway. Once he is healed again, his next album in progress will be called Slaughterhouse, was planned to be more heavy on 'sung' than spoken words and have a more optimistic and hopeful focus than the retrospective analytical leanings of Sick Boi. Despite the setbacks, there's some finished new music that will be released over the next few months to keep peoples' appetites fed !! Money Ties is also a new track released only today - you might enjoy reacting to that, it's a great release. He ceded a 50:50 split of the publishing and a share of the Master to his co-producer @Nayz - the deal he offered Kujo to make a new track with him but was rejected in favour of pursuing unfounded claims to money from the (now deleted) track Sick Boi. Nayz had a similar bad experience with Kujo Beats to Ren, so it is nice that now they have collaborated for mutual benefit as wronged parties. There are pinned lyrics in the comments to that music video. By the way, the opening verse of Seven Sins sung in Welsh roughly translates as : "Illness is my teacher Broke my smile My bones feel old Here lies Ren's body"

I am so sad that is is struggeling again. I've started to follow him on IG too, so that I can follow his life on that platform too, as it is more personal. I'm so pissed that Kujo did him so dirty and he did everything he could with great intentions for everone, and then Kujos greed just destroyed everything. Ren deserves happiness in his life and not to waste his health on the sick energy-vampire Kujo. I love the Kujo Beat Down. It was magical. My favourite is Chalk Outline for very personal reasons.
