I have just picked up an April 05 Rodeo with a 3 ltr turbo diesel. The engine is an RDM on the body tag. It's only done 250,000km and runs fine. I plan to free up the exhaust back pressure and replace the Air filter with a new OEM equivalent. This should allow the turbo to spool up much more easily and provide a bit more power hopefully. What code would this engine be? The code you have used appears nowhere on my I'd plates.
Never had any issues having the EGR blocked, the previous owner had done the delete, and must have had the computer reset so it didnt throw any codes. When we had one of our other rodeos it used to throw codes but would only be for a short time and then she would bounce back to normal.
Had just the standard ones that come from factory on this, was about to upgrade them before I decided on getting the new 79 series, if you are looking at getting recovery points we highly recommend going with the road safe front recovery mounts, these are tested, proven and come with all the gear to install yourself. I'll bet you picked up shitloads of HP after you installed that Bosh battery did you do the mods and shave 40 thou off both sides and installed a 2 inch battery lift kit good job. Yep i painted the rad cap on mine blue and couldn't be happy with the performance
Depends what you're specifically talking about. Originally had a V6 Rodeo and never had any dramas, had a bit more go than the diesel, but in the long run the diesel was ultimately the better choice for me, with reliability out of the 4JH1 which kept going no matter what we put it through.
There are a few benefits of having an egr delete which you can see online but the main reason I did it was because it Reduces Carbon Deposits in the engine. It does that because it blocks off the used gases from going back through the engine. Cons are that it is illegal and can cause codes
Gday Legend!, these little rigs are something impressive thats for sure, little bit of maintenance and they will go a long way, for example the rodeo shown had 240k when sold and our other rodeo at the time had 420k kms when sold!, they are bulletproof motors thats for sure
Gday mate, they came out factory with about 96kw however everybody who managed to drive this compared to there rodeos had said that mine went a lot better than theres did, not sure what the difference was, but dont need huge horsepower when all you wanna do is travel and enjoy your surroundings

In the long run mate, just ended up switching at the globes which made a huge difference, to buy a whole new headlight kit was much more expensive

My 2002 doesn't have egr, but does have gear drive valvetrain.

in Greece the 4jh1 produced 131hp after 2004 and then the same engine produced 163hp my vehicle is from 2005 and has 163hp
