Mammoth WVH's leader details and demos the series of stripped pedals he keeps on his stomp station.
Before a headlining show at the Signal in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on May 17th, PG traveled south down I-24 to see what was percolating in the EVH and WVH camps. We were fortunate enough to be joined by Ellis and Van Halen, who talked about the development of the new SA-126 semi-hollow guitar and then focused on the new thunder-stick 4-string prototype that’s being “crash tested” by bandmate Ronnie Ficarro. Additionally, we cover the setups of riff warriors Sidoris (also of Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators) and Jourdan (To Whom It May), who fly the EVH flag but bring their own shine.

Every interview I've seen with WVH has shown him to be an exceedingly gracious and talented young man. His parents did a great job.
Easy to be humble when you're worth 50 mil
Eddie was the same way and I agree they did a good job raising him , a rarity with today's celebrities children. Children in general for that matter!

Wolf isn’t just the son of a famous rock guitarist. He is a very talented musician and songwriter who can hold his own even without his dad.
He’s actually a much more rounded musician then his pop.

Crazy how time passes. I saw VH in the 90s. Wolf came out on stage as Ed played 316. He was probably 3 at the time. And here he is his own Man.
I seen wolf come out and play alittle with Ed on the 2004 reunion tour but Ed was so messed up it was pretty bad I felt sorry for wolf it was like he was on the tour to help take care of eddie to try to keep him alive. I know people knocked sammy for saying some things he said in the book he wrote but they were true eddie was totally out there and I saw them a couple other tours with Sammy and they were great but the 2004 tour was really hard to watch. Wolf definitely has his dad's genes the dude is talented and at the taylor hawkins tribute I've never heard anyone play a eddie solo that sounded so close to the original usually you can tell it's someone else playing I believe if you had your eyes closed when wolf played Eddie's parts you couldn't tell the difference it was scary
Saw Mammoth live last year here in NE Ohio and they absolutely slayed. Totally changed my perspective on the band. The songs on the album are 5x better live. Wolf put on a killer show.
Can't imagine how difficult it would be to not stand in his dad's shadow. DAMN!!! he's doing great on his own!

That guitar is probably my favorite guitar that I didn't build. Such a cool guitar.
wolf is so awesome and humble, he reminds me of his pops.
On the latest track Goodbye the intro riff has a flange on it but it’s subtle…And because the riff starts by itself and nothing is sonically obscured by anything else it sounds hypnotic and works really well .
“Epiphany” is such an awesome song. Production on it is great.
Van Halen was the first band I ever saw back in 2012 when I was 13 and for being only in his early twenties back then he was absolutely killing it, still super happy that Wolf is doing great on his own and I know that Eddie is still incredibly proud of the great player that his son has become… keep on rockin’, Wolfie

EVH was never on Hendrix level, and I was a huge VanHalen fan.
@@alexcorona interesting take. I would say, in my opinion, from a purely technical standpoint, EVH was miles ahead. But it’s hard to compare greats. They both had something none of us have. They both shaped so much for the instrument. They both are equally as inspirational I’d say.

They still are limited because they are all the same circuits, you need dedicated circuitry to get the purest sound
