- George Galloway has been sworn as an MP for Rochdale following his by-election victory. He said his job is to "make Rochdale great again".
Mr Galloway said he hopes to speak at PMQs or the budget debate on this week, and has "plenty to say" about Rochdale, Britain, and the "international situation".

I was born in Rochdale at home in 1955. The house was demolished under the slum clearance programme in the 60 ‘s. No inside bathroom or toilet.the tin bath hung on a nail under the stairs.Broom handle needed to break the toilet ice in winter.ice on the inside of the windows in winter. They were the great days of Rochdale.The market charter issued by King John… and all downhill from there.
