    Would you mind doing a video and showing us step-by-step exactly how to set up the small Ascope in the settings because I cannot figure out how to get my graph to match yours I want to follow you along in the video and I’m super frustrated I can’t find that information anywhere, just need a step-by-step how to set it up to test it like this.

    Great video. Where did you order this? Amazon?? I'm looking there and they all seem like knock offs. Liumy is not on top of the device like yours. I'm worried about getting a low quality device making it difficult to see clipping points. Thanks for the response

    Can this be used for the 1000hz test tone for setting mid range amps too? Not just sub amps?
    I bought a cheap oscilloscope from Amazon and could only get the 40hz Tone to show good waveforms and when trying higher frequency of 1000hz since I'm trying to set my mid range amp for motorcycle and can't use low hz on bikes it won't show the waves no matter the settings.

    i need your help please 🙏🏼 does a cheap oscilloscope (5mhz bandwidth) shows me a full sine wave above 50v on the output of amplifier? The reason im asking is because mine one always squares it on anything above 32v output (amp). I have tried changing the amplitude on the oscilloscope by pressing the voltage button from 10v to 20v 50v 100v 200v and the arrows to put the sine wave right at the bottom so i get to see the top of it but still, so im not sure if im getting a square top or the wave is actually going pass what my cheap oscilloscope can show :/ Amp is 3000 rms which can go up to 78v all i need is 57v output but im not sure if is a dirty signal or not. Amp isn't clipping (light on it) until i go pass 80v output. Please give me your opinion on this one 🙏🏼

    When you test the Head Unit for clipping, where do you put the leads? At the RCA outputs or speakers. Everything in my system i just installed is connected through RCA to the amp.

    1:21 you can measure Hz?? this is good if you want exact value and on your amp is for example value from 50 to 120 and you want 90Hz but it is not exact. And measure terminal where are speakers connected will give exact value.

    So if you put everything to flat, (bass, loud off, treble to zero, sub at zero, no bass boost, and u set the amp gain just before clipping at the head units max clean volume, wouldn't the sub clip as soon as u put your head unit settings back to the correct settings that the user enjoys for listening? Thanks

    • @ATCA
      @ATCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The idea is to leave the HU at O. Maybe small increases ir decreases. Dramatic changes on the head unit is a disaster for the input signal. If you have to adjust the stock hu for your speakers, like you want more bass or something, byou need to set before you set gain on the amp. But ideally using the "crossover" function on the radio wont effects the "sub" output much in this manor. If you have a cheap head unit with only one fukl range output or youbhave stock radio with only a single LOC, then you are correct, adjusting these settings after setting the gain can DRAMATICALLY change the point where the amp clips. The idea is to have the amp set to where it will never clip.
      Heres another scenario:
      you listen to the radio at volume 20/30. And you set the gain there to get the most from your amp at the volume you listen to. This os a good scenario. However, when you're buddy borrowz your car or you take ot to the dealer and they test drive it and crank it up, the subs have the possibly to clip and blow. This happened to Exo Contralto. His girlfriends car was taken in for repairs and he set it where he wanted. He came back and the subs were miraculously blown. Ideally you can turn it all the way up and bot have this problem. If you naturally listen to the radio lower, theres sometimes a settings calles SLA or "source level adjustment". This you can use to decrease the source input and thus allow you to the full range of thr volume dial and have the output level where you decide.

It looks like a seismic activity meter. Like someone with Parkinson disease is trying to draw. What have I done wrong? Someone, ANYONE, PLEASE help.
