The first "metalcore" song he played was actually Nightmare by A7X which isn't even metalcore, it's just heavy metal (and an absolute tune) but old A7X (Unholy Confessions) is melodic metalcore - which above comments say is hugely influenced by melodeath.
Carcass was WAAAY ahead of their time with Heartwork. Just like At The Gates was with their music.

As a Metal head my journey basically went from Korn to Slayer to Job For A Cowboy.
So, basically I chose Deathcore/Death Metal as JFAC would transition from Deathcore to Deathmetal. Job For A Cowboy and Suicide Silence were some of my favorite bands when it came to Deathcore and we can’t forget the TechDeathcore stuff either.
The Faceless, Infant Annihilator, and Archspire? All good shit 👌🏽
Funny enough, I’d always search for the genre of metal that was heavier than the last and that’s how I found Deathcore/DeathMetal.

I still to this day think JFAC music is better than most death metal bands today. So much going on in their music. They slayed it in deathcore with one album and noped right out of the genre.

The fathers of Deathcore are Suffokate, Despised Icon, Job For A Cowboy, and Suicide Silence.
Many people will say Whitechapel was one of the fathers of Deathcore, but they mainly got famous due to their genius innovation of having three guitarists and their brutal sound.
I love that you picked bmth as deathcore. Their early stuff was so good. Alot of bands build a spund of their templates

Let's see which "Grindcore" songs was presented in this video:
Cattle decapitation - techdeath/deathgrind (deathgrind is mostly about death metal with little grindcore influence).
Song from napalm death was from their album harmony corruption, first album from death metal era.
Carcass heartwork is melodic death metal song/album, it has nothing similar with grindcore.
Pig destroyer's loathsome is death metal with grindcore elements.
That's silly that author chosen death metal rather than grindcore
At least Fear of Napalm is Grindcore song. But even I personally sometimes have problem to tell apart grindcore, deathgrind and goregrind because I have seen too many bands like that.
