Repairing the rake and bringing it back to perfect working order gives a much better feeling than going and buying a new one as well. Those people giving you crap should really try it out. Being self sufficient is a nice feeling to have.
It is great to see you repair and reuse the rake, in a throwaway society, you taught an object lesson... That dam overflow looked like the most awesome waterslide, except the end, of course.
Also, likely they wanted to test the spill way before Henri arrives because in case the reservoir overfills, they know they can release it without causing damage to the structure. There is a lot of rocks there, so erosion shouldn't be a concern, but you would not dwant a failure.
I agree Post a really good rake is expensive & hard to find so dont worry bout what people say! Nothing wrong with fixing things! Love your videos! Much love from Henderson Ga!
in previous videos hes said its not because a new rake is expensive or he cant afford one, he said its because he doesnt like how theyre made today and they break easily. i would agree, the amount if things id buy that broke within a short time before i actually started researching what brands are most durable etc
Me, too. Since the video where the rake broke, I hoped he'd fix it. It's so much more satisfying to fix somethings yourself rather than just toss and buy again. Besides, aren't we all kind of fond of Rake?

A good attempt at clearing a culvert, gorgeous roosters, welding and a hydro dam. This had a little bit of everything. The power of that water can be appreciated much more up close. I like that you repaired the rake rather than just buy a new one. All of us should be doing more of that. Most of society is far too wasteful. Tyfs 😊

I've been home for the past four days and your videos have been great to watch while I recuperate, thanks for doing what you do and for sharing it on youtube ❤️
What you did with the rake was cool! You gave me ideas for fixing some of my equipment...THANKS! If your rake breaks again, I bet it breaks somewhere other than your fix.
I don’t know about NH but out west their are contractual agreements or laws that a certain amount of water needs to flow from a dam to feed down stream tributaries for ranching or agriculture
Ah. Hearing the water on that dam was great. So relaxing it made me sleepy lol. But yes, the power of that water is pretty cool and scary. And hey, your rake is fixed! Woo hoo! Right on dude 👍💪
You might want to consider maybe welding or bonding a small shovel head, a garden hoe head or a piece of metal to the other side of the rake. It may be useful with scraping and/or scooping debris off of the grates . All you would need to do is rotate the rake in your hands to use the other side of the tool. Just a thought.
I can't wait to see what you might film after Henri has passed. Please stay safe wherever you are, Post 10. I hope you and your family suffer no damage from Henri. Also, chickens , neat. So glad your rake is fixed. We also fix items because older stuff is made better and repairable.
I expected that rake to break long ago. You got a good rake with good steel. Il'll bet you got it a long time ago. Finding a rake that wasn't made in China these days is probably impossible. Repairing it was the best idea. I know I would have just bought another rake and probably gotten a lower quality rake than you have. Save everything you can. I love your videos.
