      His playing isn't as clean as it was back when he was the studio bassist for Narada Michael Walden, but he's still got a great technique for ghosting. Him and Doug Wimbush were very in demand studio bass players, in the early and mid 80's. Especially when Marcus was already booked :-)
      TM and Doug are hard for me to listen to or watch anymore, because of the "theatrics" and Marcus' playing/improvisation/composition skills. Marcus isn't playing slap bass. He's phrasing sax ideas on the bass... using the tone and attack associated with slap :-)
