Honda dream is the model that once they said it’s a motorbike for the teachers in Thailand. Until now some people still saying this. The reason was in year 1983, the teacher council of Thailand had an intention to helping teachers to have an easy commutement from their place to school. Then the council had a conversation and negotiations to the biggest honda dealer in Thailand to sell the bike a bit cheaper in the market for the teachers and the Honda dream was the model in that time that they selected. After that the Honda dream is kind of the representative as buddy for all Thai teachers.
I had the exact same Honda Dream from 1998-2007. Bought it in Greece and clocked up over 100k kilometres in 9 years. I agree, it's a brilliant bike and if you service it regularly , it'll never let you down.

Just a side note: You may not have a new engine and therefore didn’t increase the horsepowers of dreamy, but a new exhaust has less restriction, due to carbon buildup, and you get likely a better performance, as well as a better mileage out of her.
I cant believe I got so excited over an exhaust pipe. When he was unwrapping it the anticipation was killing me!! It does look super cool tho. Good luck Paddy!

Wow, Dreamy's new pipe looks and sounds terrific! I don't know if you know or have been there already (I'm still working my way through all your videos), but in Kanchanaburi town there is a huge Honda shop with a massive private bike museum inside it. You would love it, and if you turned up on Dreamy the owner would be amazed! Carry on....

Welcome back to the road. You are so right about the Honda Dealer Service Centers. I look forward taking my bike in for service in Thailand, not so much here in the USA.
As kids aged 11, we played with an even older, broken down and rusty Honda Super 50 with parts missing everywhere. The motor had gotten stuck, so we .....pedalled it. It was heavy as an anchor of course, built out of a lump of steel and making squeaky noises. The joy we had on that :-) Wish I still had it now. Bon voyage!

My first bike experience was on a Honda Dream in -94 when my best friend and I drove that bike all over Koh Phuket. I still remember that sound and burn marks on the right leg. Would be nice to see new shiny chromed wired rims on new tires as well for a new factory look.
When you get to CM try registering at Rajavej hospital, near the Holiday Inn, they have a programme for Farangs AZ both includes younger people. I registered last week and got first jab this week. The time between jabs is 8 weeks but it's possible to get 2nd jab in another province of necessary 🤞 Good luck!

paddy, thats great youre going back to the provinces tour, im gonna watch each and every one of them. One suggestion: when youre up in the north, can you try to get to or around Nong Khai during the buddist lent festival, and take some footage of the naga fireballs, the (bang fai payanagh). I think its extremly itneresting and mysterious, and one of the msot underrated phenomena and thai tourist experiences. Im sure a lot of ppl would love to see you cover the phenomena of the fireballs coming out of mekong river. its amazing.

Paddy NEVER use a high pressure washer on any motorcycle. It forces water into the bearings and rots the electrics. Oh and the new exhaust will definitely increase your power

Of course, you could've also taken the old exhaust pipe to get refurbished...cleaned, treated, and dipped in chrome if you couldn't find a replacement. Honda definitely built a solid bike in Dreamy. Everything needs occasional maintenance. That new exhaust erased years off "old" age. As Willy Nelson says " On the Road Again." 🛵
