If you drove with my father or a driving instructor, or someone from NHTSA you would be driving the same speed as 12.3, but bc everyone in this country (including Dirty Tesla) is in a hurry to go nowhere and does not have safety in mind. If you just sat back, relaxed and let the car drive safely you wouldn’t worry about getting to your destination 12% faster than if you broke all the laws and stressed yourself out, road raged on some old lady and used more fossil fuels than necessary. FSD will truly be amazing when everyone is using it and there will be no traffic and peace on our road ways!! I can’t wait to see that future. The Sunday race car drivers will still have their right to rip up the roads. The police will have less to do, the courts will have less to do, we won’t have to pay crazy insurance premiums and people will be able to send their kids to practice without driving them!!😮

I wonder if they can change behavior after the fact because I don't recall 12.3 being slow when it first came out. It was robustly above the speed limit.
Also you can try to work the scroll wheel because it actually has an effect. If you scroll way down the car stops. Even though it gives no indication that it should have effect. So maybe a little up has effect too

Drove today through a snow storm and a small blizzard in mountains, v 12.3. It was surprisingly good, no disengagements, impressed me. It was hard to see anything due to snow, but it felt solid and didn't make any mistakes. Still, some issues with 12.3 (especially speed control). Some things definitely improved and the comfort improved dramatically. Feels like a human about half the time, then it does something completely stupid and ruins it. Hugs the curb too closely, I think it may have scrapped the wheel once. BlackTesla was complaining about the same issue.

Would be worth driving manually through some of these spots, and, where it can be done safely, demonstrating how slippery it is (or isn't), such as approaching a stop a bit to fast and braking too hard.

I've driven past FSD versions on snowy/slushy/icy roads. It's DEF not ready. It's def ok on rural roads without any cars or busy intersections. But, otherwise...it's like getting into the car and using FSD for the very first time. Sporadic at best. I don't feel it knows that it's in conditions where road might have good grip here..but in 100ft a complete change and dangerous situation could be encountered.
Took into Boston yesterday..and had 2-3 major disengagements on dry roads...
One in particular (in Chill Mode):
Came off of Interstate to a large oval and heavily traveled roundabout. I've been here many times in the past and know that the street I need to take is on the right, after the east bound traffic from the interstate enters. It's a yield for them...however, it's always always packed with traffic. And anyone coming around the roundabout, needs to stay in the far right or, at best, middle lane and then force your way right to take the first right to the destination.
Upon exiting the interstate FSD Immediately chose the far left of 3 lanes because it was empty..However, the far left is more or less for traveling all the way around the roundabout and taking either the 3rd or 4th right...I left it in FSD, even though I knew this was the incorrect lane. upon approach to the street I needed to take the Right lane was packed and so too the middle(Where cars from the middle were forcing themselves into the right to take that road.
I disengaged and in no way was going to let FSD try to muscle in with so much traffic.
V12.3 about the 5th and biggest fail of the day.
Driving on rural less traveled roads v12.3 was very good in it's speed and like most previous versions, following traffic. However, in a city like Boston and its suburbs. Where many weird intersections and poor engineering of lanes, etc...FSD is constantly failing and downright embarrassing! Let's not even mention highway driving...Cutting faster traffic off when moving left, instead of increasing speed to overtake...and passing on the right when it sees a clear lane. Horrible driving etiquette...
Has a long way to go...

In addition to the jump in smoothness, I have also observed a couple of big changes in v12.3. Previously in v11.x, I used to set navigation to a couple of normal destinations such as grocery store. 11.x would set a course that would take me past the destination and then requiring a U-turn so I would override that by dropping a pin on the map and make a more logical left turn. With v12.3, nav still sets the less efficient route but when I get there, the car departs from the mapped route and takes the turn that I previously had to designate with the dropped pin. It doesn’t re-map, it just ignores the mapped route on its own. I’ve had it do this on two separate destinations so far.

9:48 I love V12's "timidity" in these conditions. I'm from Alabama and when we get that much snow it's often accompanied by temperature wobbling around freezing, so we get have a bit of black ice on the road at unfortunate locations like bridges and over culverts or at spots with a little traffic, but not enough. For instance, I'd have been expecting to slip a bit around that right turn onto the "main" road. I suspect we have more little bridges and roads with culverts under them that may allow them to freeze in spots, and black ice looks exactly like wet road, except when it looks like dry road or is hidden under a little snow. Couple the ice being at about the freezing point (instead of well, below it), and you have a recipe for loss of control by ANY vehicle without chains. I admit that while living in Minnesota through one of its winters, most drivers around me probably found my driving a bit paranoid, but on the other hand, I never even came close (as far as I know) to getting into one of those accidents, single vehicle or otherwise, which encourage Minnesotans to keep a beater car for driving in the winter.
Back to the point and in summary: I LOVE V12's behavior you are showing here. I'm even thinking of trying to budget a purchase (i.e., convince the wife we need it) next year.

It makes sense the car is timid in the snow. I doubt it has enough training on it and most humans don’t respect the road conditions properly. I had my first FSD 12.3 drive this morning to work and it was amazing. The smoothness is worlds better. The only issue I had and is not an FSD 12 thing is how it performs on the interstate. It LOVES getting to the left lane and with the traffic it still is hunting to change lanes constantly. Once they migrate to 12 or work on the driving profile for that I will use it more for the interstate.

Been driving V12 for a few days now here in SUNNY Florida and there are improvements needed still of course on this initial rollout. However, the biggest difference is the confidence which increased my trust in the cars ability which reduced those stressful moments previous versions created with jerky movements, sudden breaking, etc. ALL of that is GONE! Even in tough situations, the car can think through it and make a decision smoothly.

I simply could drive better than 12.3 in snow. But in standard conditions it may drive better than I as I am 76. It comes from driving many years without salt or sand on the road. And of course no chains. I have witnessed people with all 4 tires chained up upside down in the ditch with chains on all 4 wheels when to me the conditions said 45mph. I have only been slowed to a maximum of 35 in extremely icy freezing rain outside town. Any type drive would have trouble climbing a hill in those conditions. Now with my all wheel drive I might drive 30 mph.
