MINIMUM SUPPORT PRICE (MSP )
People have lot of misunderstanding about MSP. When the farmer leaders sayv ( MSP pe kanoon banao ),what is meant by that? It means that government should make a law that no body can buy food grains from farmers at a rate less than MSP. If someone (government agency or private agency or any other wholesale dealer ) buys from farmers at a rate less than MSP he can be legally punished or penalized. Government will not be affected if this law is made. Farmers don't say that government should increase the amount of food grains that it procures. In simple language Farmers say that MSP should mean not only MINIMUM SUPPORT PRICE but also MINIMUM SELLING PRICE.
