I agree! And not everyone can make it to Vegas. Ive never been to one of these restaurants but I’d go! For sure. I live very remote in the smokies and it’s fun to see what’s out there… so when I do make it somewhere I know.
My husband is a cook at the Texas Roadhouse here so we get to enjoy it quite often and as far as the steaks go, the bone in ribeye is actually the best tasting one they have in my opinion.. for non steak options tho I like the roadkill too lol
Our Family has never had a bad meal or experience at Texas Roadhouse. I love their salad because they add the boiled egg. No one else does that and it is so good. They serve such good meat. Pricey but what isn't now a days. Now that I am older I can't eat as much as I use to. So we like to dine earlier and the early bird offering is great! I do love the rolls but not the sweet butter. We always ask for regular butter. No problem.

I love Texas Roadhouse.I’m in Upstate NY. Never have had a disappointing meal or poor service. I favor their sirloin steak and for sides the fresh broccoli,Caesar salad,baked potatoes.The rolls are to die for! Thanks for sharing a great review!
If you keep ordering your steaks medium rare you'll finally understand what a tender steak should look and taste like, the more you cook a steak the drier and less flavorful it becomes. Both of your steaks were cooked perfectly, a medium rare bone in rib eye is the way to go.
I think it Depends on what steak u get i usually refrain from eating a ribeye that undercooked due to how much fat it has just makes it too chewy like rubbery but for steaks like a tbone is amazing honestly
We went to the Texas Roadhouse three times and tried three different steaks. They can't seem to cook a medium well steak properly. It was served either with an ice cold center or well done.
A little fun fact for those who are not aware, but you can order a custom cut steak at Texas Roadhouse, ie I usually request a 24 oz boneless ribeye, which of course costs more, but is worth it. I generally only eat about half of it or perhaps a bit more, then take the remainder home for a great steak sandwich the next day.
It's not custom cut. They have bigger steaks in their cases then on the menu and you can look when you get there and ask for one of those but once they're gone there is not another one. I work there and I would know.
@@annamariegotschall2874 actually it is custom. The ones in the case do vary in size but are wuthin 1-3 ounces of the menu sizes. The kitchen manager has to approve the larger steaks which get custom cut.
Surprised you are reviewing a chain steakhouse but I see this is a different channel. Keep doing both so the people that maybe are on a budget can decide if they want to go better or bargain.
I discovered Texas Roadhouse on a trip to San Antonio. Love the rolls and cinnamon butter. I was pleasantly surprised at how tender the sirloin steak was. My fav is prime rib and ribeye. I actually prefer Texas Roadhouse to Outback.
I do go to Texas Roadhouse and either get the Ribeye or Prime Rib with loaded baked potato and Caesar salad. I’ve never had a bad meal or needed to send my steak back which I order Medium myself. We always have to wait at our TR as it’s always busy day and night. Glad you reviewed yours and had a good meal! Thanks guys !

Both steaks are Med rare the perfect choice for steak to savor the favor and tenderness of the meat . Med or well done both dry out the meat and reduce the flavor of the steaks . You are now enjoying the best that that steak has to offer you . Bon appétit .

Went there last night! They were very busy with 75 tables on the waiting list. They moved through the list in under an hour. Always have a decent meal. Nothing fancy and just tasty steaks.
I really don't understand how mediocre places can have 75 people waiting for an hour. THERE are are a lot nicer places with less wait and comparable or even lower prices.

I think hot pink center refers to the temperature, not the color. If a steak is cold in the center it is not cooked medium. Derek’s steak looked medium rare. The rib add on for $9.99 is a nice option!

Texas Roadhouse is my favorite steak house because I believe it is the best value for a great tasting steak. Love the fresh baked rolls most of the time I eat them without even adding the butter. If you want a romantic meal with someone special the ambience is not really conducive for quiet conversation however. Early afternoon they usually have the music at a much lower volume than during the evening. Our local Texas Roadhouse always has a long wait to be seated starting after 5 P.M. earlier dining has a much lower wait time to be seated here.

You should have sent that Porterhouse back to be cooked to your liking. All in all though the meal looked great! I loved the look of the ribs & Catherines steak.
I agree... Aside from the bone in ribeye, the filet is probably the best steak they have. The T-Bone isn't bad, though. I get it every once in a while.
They used to have the Road Kill Grill on the early bird menu. I’m disappointed that it isn’t still there. Save some of the cinnamon butter from your roll to go on your baked sweet potato. Derek, your steak was the winner.
Their sweet potatoes are out of this world! I always have it with Carmel and marshmallow! Also, I go there every Veteran’s Day. Texas Roadhouse treats us so very nice! We appreciate them!

I pretty much stopped going to high end steakhouses because not only the super expensive prices, but also that I can grill a fantastic equivalent steak for about one fourth the cost, if not less. However, TR offers a pretty damn good steak dinner and relative to the high end joints, a really nice bang for the buck.

A porterhouse is a new york strip on one side of the bone fillet on the other. A t-bone has a small fillet and bigger bone usually from the end of the cut and thus cheaper.
Fun fact: Texas Roadhouse sells Select No-Roll steaks. The bottom of the barrel when it comes to steak. The reason why it’s more tender than Prime and Wagyu steak is because of what they inject it with.
I loooove Texas Road House. I always get those snake bites and the rib eye smothered in onions. The shrimp are delicious to. I always leave with a whole bunch of rolls to take home..
Love their bone in ribeye. Usually they'll have at least one in the case that is extra thick. They'll also cut the prime rib to whatever size you like (upcharge of course). Each of those would be more than the porterhouse and definitely worth trying. Longhorn has to be the next stop and the best chain steakhouse in that tier imo. Love the videos!
The Porterhouse looks almost raw-ish. Personally I would have asked them to cook it a little more. But the prices seems fair and looks good! Thanks for your video.
food looked appealing and tender. ribs were large and seemed to be tender. not a lot of sauce on ribs is good. sweet potato is a treat. seems to be on many steak menus.
I love Texas Roadhouse, it's my favorite sit down restaurant. i have never had a bad experience at any location rather it's here in Michigan, Illinois, or in North Vegas. the Chicken Critters (tenders) are my favorite with their signature BBQ sauce and baked Potatoe, i also get a steak sometimes
Well, ok there was only one wet nap but to be fair Derek will need at least 6 anyway! My grandmother would say that Derek's face shows his love for his food!

Loved your video and I love Texas Roadhouse. It is my favorite place for steak. I normally get the Dallas Filet. I don't see how you guys can eat the much stuff with the appetizers and extra sides. There was enough food there for at least 4 people but it all looked great.
Used to go for the early bird special and pickle fries - my reward for getting thru painful procedures at the doctor's. Always enjoyed it - got a bad / tough steak a couple times (I've probably gone 40 times so not a bad percentage) and they brought me a new one with no hassle - and quickly! It's about an hour away for me or I would go more now. Enjoy your episodes a lot. Katherine has great descriptions and he has awesome face and body language lol!

Same here Patty. Now that we are in our 50's, we share an appetizer and share 1 entree. Afterwards, we are comfortably full and saved some $.
I like the honey butter but it can get tiresome so usually try to get half honey butter and regular butter if they have it

I like plenty of juice and plenty of pink in my steak, but I also like it hot. Nothing worse than a cool dark red steak.

The Dallas cut is absolutely delicious. Tender and juicy. Pair that with a baked potato, salad and a cold beer. You cannot beat it.

i think catherine made the better choice in getting the Dallas Filet it was so thick and juicy without those crazy onions and mushrooms.
Got to have the mushrooms and onions I would skip the steak and just do the mushrooms and grilled onions in some mashed potatoes

A porterhouse is a new york strip on one side of the bone fillet on the other. A t-bone has a small fillet and bigger bone usually from the end of the cut and thus cheaper.
Fun fact: Texas Roadhouse sells Select No-Roll steaks. The bottom of the barrel when it comes to steak. The reason why it’s more tender than Prime and Wagyu steak is because of what they inject it with.

I loooove Texas Road House. I always get those snake bites and the rib eye smothered in onions. The shrimp are delicious to. I always leave with a whole bunch of rolls to take home..

Love their bone in ribeye. Usually they'll have at least one in the case that is extra thick. They'll also cut the prime rib to whatever size you like (upcharge of course). Each of those would be more than the porterhouse and definitely worth trying. Longhorn has to be the next stop and the best chain steakhouse in that tier imo. Love the videos!
I've heard the bone is better taste in a ribeye

food looked appealing and tender. ribs were large and seemed to be tender. not a lot of sauce on ribs is good. sweet potato is a treat. seems to be on many steak menus.

I love Texas Roadhouse, it's my favorite sit down restaurant. i have never had a bad experience at any location rather it's here in Michigan, Illinois, or in North Vegas. the Chicken Critters (tenders) are my favorite with their signature BBQ sauce and baked Potatoe, i also get a steak sometimes
Well, ok there was only one wet nap but to be fair Derek will need at least 6 anyway! My grandmother would say that Derek's face shows his love for his food!

The steak will keep cooking a bit after being served especially if you have hot toppings.

Loved your video and I love Texas Roadhouse. It is my favorite place for steak. I normally get the Dallas Filet. I don't see how you guys can eat the much stuff with the appetizers and extra sides. There was enough food there for at least 4 people but it all looked great.

Used to go for the early bird special and pickle fries - my reward for getting thru painful procedures at the doctor's. Always enjoyed it - got a bad / tough steak a couple times (I've probably gone 40 times so not a bad percentage) and they brought me a new one with no hassle - and quickly! It's about an hour away for me or I would go more now.
