Interesting. I have been doing fiberglass boat repair for thirty years using epoxy. Along the way I have fixed a few dings in surfboards and paddle boards. Everything about your technique seems different from mine. The brushes, the mixing containers, the stick you use to apply the thickened epoxy, the power sanding on a small, curved repair, the use of peel-ply, the method of cutting out the repair patches, the wetting out (or lack thereof, perhaps). I use the lighter-weight blue gloves and you use black gloves that seem loose. I would have used a second application of thickened epoxy to build to the final surface instead of your method of shaping one load with peel-ply and then sanding down to a finished surface. But it works just fine, and so informs my next project. It is the craftsman, not the tools, eh? Cheer! Russ

Try using some new peel ply. Scraps have creases in them that make the finishing harder.

When you use air tools do you worry about the tool lubrication contaminating the work surface?

I tend to use only electric power tools for that reason, only exception would be for cutting carbon fibre as it’s dangerous with electric power tools, use good filters in the line, de grease the area before any application as good practice

Nice! Whats the cloth you use to shape and then romove?

Is it peel ply? I thought peel ply doesn’t conform to compound curves. This stuff does.

Yes peel ply if you use on the diagonal it will work better, if not use in small patches but be sure to overlay to aid when peeling off

Nice but would be much more helpful with voice over explanations and text captions. Thanks for your video.
