Bobby Madley has actually explained his side of the story and I really feel for him. His best mate snitched on him to the referee board about the joke that he made. He made a joke about a guy in a wheelchair saying even he’d beat him in a race, and while I don’t even think it’s the worst joke his dad is actually in a wheelchair so feel like he’s got a bit more leeway with a joke like that. The thing about Dean is, he is a legend in his own mind. A good Referee will be invisible until he is needed, with Dean, if he is not the center of attention, he will make it so he is.

@@malomapusua3048 The reason VAR sucks, as you put it lol, is because it is run by humans. There is nothing wrong with VAR itself, it runs perfectly and is full proof, but as soon as the human element comes into it, it starts going downhill fast and fails. That is why Goal-Line-Technology works so well, no human element to mess it up. VAR is also overused and not what it was designed for. Either use it for certain things, EVERYTHING, or not at all. Because at the moment VAR is schoosing when it is used, rather than within the laws of its use and that is not right. Too many times VAR interferes with situations it has no need to interfere with and even no right to interfere with and it is killing the game. Referees also rely on it too much. Refs seem to have the mindset, "if VAR says it is so, then it must be right". Refs have lost the will to think. In all the hundreds of decisions VAR has asked a Ref to go to the monitor, only twice has a Ref said, "Naah! I am not having that and I will stick to my original desision" and that is not right. Technology is fantastic and I am all for it, but if used wrongly it can ruin things and VAR at this time, is ruining the game completely, by interfering too much and sucking all the joy, fun and life out of the sport. We have got to the point where we dare not celebrate a goal anymore for at least 30 minutes, while VAR spends that long, looking at it from every angle, including up a Players butt, to make sure the goal should stand and that in itself is all wrong. It really is not necessary and it all needs to be stopped and VAR's usage needs to be examined and changed....for the better.

I just want everyone to remember that if referees actually enforced the Laws of the Game regarding foul and abusive language toward the referee, there'd be 10 red cards a game. The abuse they take is monumental.
The abuse they take is wrong, but it’s partially their fault. They need to be giving out more yellows when players try to intimidate them, plus they’re shit.

I’d never heard Ben Fosters voice until he made the GK channel, and I was surprised how much he can grasp an audience, he’s one of those guys that when he speaks you just wanna listen, funny, informative, real and has a great ego

As a referee, there is no better feeling than giving an advantage and then the team scoring as it shows you have done a great job! :D
I even (sort of accidentally) did it for a penalty decision once, a big no no generally unless its an OGSO, but this wasn't...
Ball fell to an attacking player just inside the area after the foul and he managed to squeeze a shot into the bottom far corner!
I'm still not sure WHY I didn't blow for the pen but it got me out of a pickle, definitely!
Refrees need to be miced up. Let us hear what they tell the players what's the reason for their decisions. Also let us hear the abuse they get from the players, so we might have some empathy towards them.
The league/clubs would never allow it. It would show the world how foul mouthed all the players are
They tried an experiment to mic up the refs back in the late 80s featuring Arsenal, they swore and abused the ref so much they vowed to never televise conversations between refs and players. Wouldn’t doesn’t work in football due to the lack of respect for officials by the majority of footballers.

When so many players will lie and cheat with regards to calling for fouls, throw ins, goal kicks, corners... I'm not surprised they don't want to hear from the player half the time.

Love Ben Foster but disagree with him on Mike Dean 'you need those sorts of characters.' No you absolutely don't. The moment a ref thinks they're part of the show/try to get their own personality across is the minute they're not doing a proper job reffing. The ref should be almost anonymous, not the main character, and Mike Dean clearly thinks he's the star of the show every week. Can't stand watching him ref a game.
Exactly. Mike Dean, Clattenburg, Anthony Taylor…just absolutely love to influence the game. Dean was sitting in the Var chair today and disallowed a goal for a challenge that occurred before 2 crosses were attempted in open play. Disgraceful decision and nobody has to explain why it will probably be the only time all season we see a goal disallowed in this way.

the same Euros that had 2 English refs in it? There were shocking decisions in the Euros, England penalty against Denmark, Czech penalty against Croatia, Wales red card against Italy. I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting, keep believing the media narrative though. English refs are some of the best around.

So far this season as a Leeds fan the officials are appauling, Burnley had a solid red card not even checked and then ignored, almost cut our player in half, got a player sent off for a challenge which literally everyone in the footballing circles have said wasn't even a foul, the ref didn't think it was a foul, the ref didn't even review it, then we have the worlds easiest penalty decision for a ref not given, wasn't reviewed by VAR either, so being screwed out of a possible 9 points 5 games into the season (ok 7 points) all because of incompotent / biased / whatever officials is disgusting.
