Can´t wait to see the promised Wifiwave2 Videos😀 I personally use already 4 CAP AX with CAPsMAN on a CHR, but in comparison to the old CAPsMAN for AC devices I´m unsure how the best and correct configuration should look like.

hAP ac², cAP etc. still have worse wifi range then a Ucompany... thats why we only run wifi on MikroTik when we do RouterOnStick=AllInOne situation. In general by years to many times a wifi have problem to connect or disconnect unexpect from RB devices... I hope you fix that stuff and create better logs for debug that problems.
The topic I was waiting for. The package has come a long way but still has a longer way ahead. A lot of features and controls still haven't made it to the GUI and CLI.
The categorization under the configuration menu is great. Unifies the management between standalone and capsman setup. One less complication yay.
However, I wish to highlight that other manufacturers already released wifi7 products. We still don't have 6E devices from Mikrotik. We also still don't have high density APs from Mikrotik with 4x4x4 or 8x8x8 configurations. Why? High density APs have always been missing in Mikrotik's portfolio of products. Sad to have to consider other hardware for public wifi setups in highly populated spaces.

Question:
In terms of performance, at the moment, hAPac^2/cAPac/wAPac remains an excellent router, the radio chip is also good, but it is very limited by 16mb rom.
Many people use them as a CAP access point.
The wave2 packet size is 10mb.
Why not make a package with limited functionality with wave2 for the same hAPac^2/cAPac/wAPac?
After all, when the router works only as a cap client, it does not need either a tool, or routing with bgp, and so on.
Just cap client, bridge, ip address.
Can I have non-wifiwave2 and wifiwave2 on the same controller. Pretty please :)

Also another pain/question (maybe it can be mentioned in educational videos)... In the old CAPsMAN I could create master wifi without SSID (even a hidden one) broadcast, basically keeping it as a general radio configuration profile. In wifiwave2 implementation I have to broadcast SSID, "polluting the air". Can tgis be adjusted?
Hi, is there any plans to implement proprietary wireless protocols such as nv2 in wifiwave2 or its next iterations?

Its great o see wifiwave 2 working, and being developed, appreciate Mikrotik effort, it seems miles better in performance that wifiwave1.
But, there are really basic stuff not working, that would be really helpful to get working, as it makes the current experience a bit poor.
Wi-Fi debug - doesn't work
registration table - missing basic info
No EIRP value
Capsman - no bandwidth stats from other APs (local forwarding)
I dont know if Mikrtok have a public place where you can see what's on the roadmap?
Or a way we can raise this stuff to make Mikrotik aware.

You have mentioned 802.11r standart for fast roaming. But by you relese informations it works just on wlan interfaces of device running it. Can we expect that you will integrate 802.11r (and 802.11k) in to the CAPsMAN?
All of the 3 roaming helping standards implemented. Here you can enable them:
802.11r -> Security ft=yes, 802.11k -> Steering rrm=yes, 802.11v -> Steering wnm=yes,
What are the plans for CAPsMAN forwarding on wifiwave2. Do we hold hope or is it gone for good?

I picked up the cAP AX and have yet to get it set up at all. Is there a video that covers setting up through the CLI and the GUI? So far I have not had much luck with the AP, but I picked up the router and switch rather quickly

I have many 802.11ac APs that are managed by a Capsman controller. Now I purchased a new AX access point and I can’t do anything... :( IMHO, there MUST be a solution that allows to expand the existing network...
Like the video says, you can run two capsman servers to serve both types of devices. For future features, we needed a new system, the past can’t hold us back
@@mikrotikNew system is a good thing, but setting up and updating config on 2 controllers is a pain. If i need to add 3 new SSIDs, I now need to add a bunch of config on one and then recreate the same config, but in a different way on the other.
@@kharkin0 Moreover, in capsman wave2 access points now work only in local forward mode; for multissid you need to drag a separate vlan to each point.

This would be great alternative for hybrid deployments or for organizations needing better “single pane of glass” view
Otherwise need a dedicated routerOS device or setup ONE of the cAP AX access points as a master controller. But this creates a divide in management and a mess to manage. Have to logon different places to manage two places for config changes….
So can wifiwave2 work as a client to other APs now? Or is that limitation still there?
Of course it can connect to other APs. This is toggled by the mode parameter.
When will you release a website that takes care of beautiful wireless systems so they look good?
In highly populated urban environments, the 2.4 GHz channels are fully saturated. Sometimes even 5 GHz starts to fill up. When can we expect a device that supports the 6 GHz band? This would significantly increase usability in dense environments.
Is there any plan to hAP ax³ Pro or cAP ax Pro with 6 GHz band in the near future?
In dense environments new 802.1ax driver works much better in 2GHz even. Like the video says, interference is not much of a problem anymore with the new chips.
How about station mode on wifiwave2 ? It it work on all devices ?

On the other hand, good to know that there is a new wifi controller.
What would be the advice to people like me who has hundreds of MT devices (mostly rb951 and 941) controlled by capsman?
When will we see wifi6 technology to arrive to devices such as netmetal in order to leverage it capabilities for the wisp's to try to survive the fiber fever?

I can only make 7 virtualAPs on hap ax lite. Map lite could spam 50 aps with funny names. Why
Modern chip drivers have such limitation, nothing we can do here
i can suggest you to use ESP32 or ESP8266 for this purpose.

Разочарован, как в ros7 так и в самой конторе.. Для меня Микротик закончился на железках, которые работают только на ros7, т.е. начиная с 5009 модели..

I do not agree at all. ROS7 has been a fantastic shift to using more power made available with these new chipsets, and WIFIWave2... about bloody time. It's so different, but is soooo much better and faster.

@@zactodd3144 Thank you for your response. I agree with you that ROS7 has become more flexible in settings, but this flexibility has exceeded all imaginable limits. For example, why do I need RIP, BGB, MPLS in a home SOHO router, why do I need WiFi settings in a router without WiFi functionality, why do I need IPv6 if it is not available in our country? In ROS6, I had the ability to disable all unnecessary packages and it was great. In ROS7, I was deprived of this opportunity and the router interface was overloaded.
In ROS7, many menu items have disappeared or been moved without any logic. As for the equipment, the company has also taken a strange path. What is this monster called RB5009 that the company released? It is embarrassing to put it on a desk and impossible to put it in a rack. It is purely marketing and not practical use. There are interesting devices that have been recently released, but mandatory use of ROS7 turns them into garbage.
I am very disappointed in the company, their new policy and new developments.

Hello, I can confidently say that Mikrotik Wi-Fi 6 devices are much weaker than the previous generation in terms of ping speed and even range. Of course, in terms of the maximum speed, I still can't comment because of the low speed of my internet. I make this comment comparing the RB951g router and Wi-Fi 6 routers such as Cap ax and hap ax3 and even L009uigs-2haxd-in. My client devices are poco x6 pro and Mibox s.
Hello, of course, I noticed that my 951 router works better (download 32mb /upload 14mb)only in connection with my Mibox S at a distance of about 10 meters behind the wall. While the L009-in router can send and receive under 1 megabit under the same conditions. Is it possible that the L009 router needs special settings for better performance?
I finally understood where the problem was.
In Wi-Fi settings, the country should be selected, for example, US, so that TX-power is considered higher.
Now I can say that the new devices are much better
its crap, they cant be used as a repeater
Since 7.12beta7 we have added "station-bridge" mode, it can now be used with other WifiWave2 devices running in AP mode, to create a repeater - layer 2 bridge.

i bought 4 of them few weeks ago, and had to send them back, because this is the only feature i need.
it`s poor to see that an cap lite (round about 30€) has this feature and a cap ax for 130€ doesnt have it....
so is it then also possible to use station bridge with the: HAP AX LITE???@@mikrotik
