- What are the world's most interesting flags? Just like a person’s style can say a lot about them, flags can tell you so much about the country, region, or state they represent. There are 197 recognized countries in the world and each of them has its national flag. Bright Side has carefully studied the flags from all over the world and found many interesting coincidences as well as unusual and entertaining facts that we didn’t even suspect.
Most flags are rectangles, but what about the few that aren’t? And what do all those colors and symbols really mean? We’re about to answer those questions and a whole lot more. Today, we’re gonna focus on 32 countries with the most creative national flags!
The majority of world flags, 55 to be exact, are horizontal and feature three tricolor stripes in their design. Red, white, and blue, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, are the most popular colors; at least one of them is pretty much always present on a country’s flag. The flags of the world are just as diverse as its people.

SUMMARY:
- The Nepalese flag is shaped with two triangles rather than the traditional rectangle. These triangles represent the two peaks of Mount Everest, which sits on Nepal’s border.
- Vatican City’s flag, also known as the flag of the Holy See, is modeled after the flag of the earlier Papal States and includes a depiction of the Vatican coat of arms.
- The Bahamas is completely unique on that front, with this shade on the flag representing the water that surrounds the islands.
- One of the youngest national flags in the world belongs to the Republic of Seychelles. This flag is only 22 years old, putting it in that awkward place between Millennial and Gen Z.
- The easily recognizable Canadian flag is adorned with a maple leaf. However, their representation of a maple leaf doesn’t exist in nature: it only has 11 points as opposed to the nearly 20 that can appear on real ones.
- The Paraguayan flag is also pretty unique; it’s double-sided!
- Portugal’s flag is the only one to feature a scientific device in its design. Behind the Portuguese shield in their national coat of arms sits an armillary sphere, which is used to calculate coordinates in astronomy.
- The Bhutanese flag has a dragon on it to allude to the country’s Tibetan name, which translates to “The Land of the Dragon.
- The Brazilian flag is a green rectangle with a yellow diamond in the middle. Within the diamond, you’ll see a blue circle depicting the starry night.
- Romania and Chad have a similar problem with their flags. Their designs both feature three vertical stripes in blue, yellow, and red.

Just kidding, but from I've heard the Queen of Italy wanted to try commoner food and was served pizza and the chef chose Mozzarella(White), Tomato Sauce(Red) and Basil(Green) to represent the colors of the Italian flag and for some reason two thirds of that became a universal standard for Pizza.

My country is India. Indian flags consists of three stripes.
The first stripe color is saffron which represent courage.
II stripe colour is white which represent peace.
III stripe colour is green which represent India's agriculture.
In middle of second strike there is a circle name Ashok Chakra which have 24 stripes which represent 24 hours of a day.
It seems like this channel has not well researched! That's why they forgot the flag of INDIA...

My countrys flag is white and it has a dark blue cross. The blue colouring is said to represent the country's thousands of lakes and the sky, with white for the snow that covers the land in winter. Its Finland btw if someone did not realise.

In the Romanian flag the blue represents the black sea , the yellow is the agriculture and the red is the blood that people lost for protecting their country in the past =D
It may just be my eyes, but I believe Chad’s flag has a darker shade of blue than Romania’s. Also, until 2017 or 18 Jamaica wasn’t the only national flag to not feature red, white or blue. Until those years I mentioned Mauritania’s flag only featured a yellow sun and star over a green field. But it was changed to include two red stripes which each run on the top and bottom of the flag.
