Saw one show when he was new and begrudgingly accepted I didn't miss KK that show. Then I saw him a bunch more times and now he is among my favourite guitarist. Tipton, Downing, Rhoads, Iommi, Lee, SRV and Faulkner. Fk yeah. And being a Flying V fan I'll be building a replica of the blue one. No EMGs though. Sorry :)

I know nothing of heavy metal. I do not know of this artist. I do know that this piece of art is staggeringly beautiful. The bends and vibrato are breathtaking. The artists control of the instrument voice is masterful. He tributes the original lovingly, respectfully and with a gentle touch, yet paints it In a palette of his own.
Surely this is the best cover of this famous solo ever... The tone is SPOT on, phrasing just perfect, I don't think anyone except Gilmour himself can touch this.

This is the best cover version to this date. The vibrato on the first notes are really slow and wide/wobbly but still feels right on-pitch and very accurate all the time. I have no idea how you do that by bending up and down to seminotes that are not even in the scale. I guess vibrato is one of those things that cannot really be theoretically analysed and understood. It just "feels" right or wrong.

Since I posted my last comment about 17 minutes ago I've checked out a whole load of other covers of CN and I can honestly say that this one is by far the best!!! I don't know who Ritchie Faulkner is - never come across him before - but based on this playing I will be checking this guy out and if he can play other covers as well as he plays CN then, what can I say, he's awesome!!!!!!
I am sure your credentials are strict enough to criticize an/or judge Faulkner. I wonder why they didn't get your input before the Priest started this latest tour. Because as far as I know he is still traveling with the band and kicking ass and you are on youtube trolling his videos.

Saw Judas Priest at the Bell Center in Montreal last night, Richie Faulkner has quite a stage presence. Rather than feeling that something was missing because KK wasn't there, I felt that there was a new dynamic added to the band and it was one of the best concerts I have seen. Well done Richie! (The black Flying V with the white binding around the body and neck and what looked like probably a Floyd Rose is the nicest looking Flying V I have seen.)

8 years later, metal heads realize and acknowledge that this man pretty much saved Judas Priest from obsolescence.
I've seen them twice with RIchie and yeah he steals the show, but Rob can still do it all he's incredible
He is a great addition, but pretty harsh to call it obsolescence. We are talking about Judas Priest here, the greatest to ever do it.
