I’m in the process of building a guitar, I would much prefer using a rag than my hand, but would this unicorn spit not effect wood burned accents too much on a slab of wood?
Do these stains soak into the wood? I’m getting some mixed info. I’ve read that gel stains sit on top of the wood, but I also saw on the product page on Amazon where it says it does soak into the wood. I’m working on a guitar body and I’ve tried oil and water based stains. Neither have worked. I’m pretty certain the guitar is poplar and it soaks up the stain VERY unevenly. Get big stripes around edges. Looks terrible. Other spots take very little stain. I was hoping this would sit on top of the wood to give me a more even finish while hopefully still being translucent. I’ve also read that you can apply an oil finish (like tung oil) and then put the glaze over it. Supposed to keep it from soaking into the wood. Really love the wood grain and really don’t want to just paint over it.
Yes. They soak into bare dry wood. However, to absorb they need to be diluted with either water or alcohol. Straight SPiT has a coverage like a non transparent stain or a semi transparent paint.
Question. I have wood kitchen cabinets however my place was a repo so the original owner painted/stained the cupboards gray/black which I loved however bank came in and sprayed the entire place an eggshell white. Is there anyway to get out of the sanding process for the staining? Otherwise, I saw another gal just use a heavy clear coat to smooth everything then paint on top of it. 2 coats of paint already on wood is a hassle. Please advise. I would like to use your metallic silver stain
There's a product called Retique It which is a paint that has wood fibers in it and you can create a fake wood grain that actually looks really nice. You can use this to create a wood look and then you can actually stain on top of it.
So I did buy some of this paint but maybe I'm doing something wrong. The color is nice and all but there's still a "chalky" kind of residue on the wood that comes off on my hand when I touch it.
I keep saying, some of you Unicorn SPiT ladies need to do guitar bodies.....Some of the effects you get, us guitarist would pay decent money for. I am in the process of using some of the Seafoam unicorn spit for a strat body. But Im not near as good with it as the ladies in the videos lol
Hi Michelle, I have a kid's picnic table that I have burned and paint with unicorn spit. I need to understand how to seal it because it will be outside. Do I apply the tongue oil and then polyurethane? Thank you for helping me. Anna @khaki.kreations
@@kayte25 I have actually used osmo to seal the stair case newel posts & hand rail. It worked amazingly. Just brush on & buff it off anywhere it is too thick.
Her excitement at being able to upload it with her new computer was cute in the most wholesome way
Gorgeous. Exactly what I am looking for. Thank you.

That's beautiful. I want to make some loudspeakers look like that.

Did you water down the gel stain first or did you just use straight
All colors were diluted with water prior application.
@@UnicornSPiTI tried diluted it but it was way too diluted and didn't work. But I didn't delete it as much as she says that she did in this video

SPiT dries chalky to let you know it’s ready for clear coat. SPiT is not self sealing.
@@UnicornSPiT I see, thank you!
@@UnicornSPiT What clear coat do you reccomend?
Could i use linceed oil
Absolutely!!
How are the colors 1 year later?
Es barniz ?
What is the spit??
so 1 part spit and 15 parts water? i want to be sure because im about to stain my custom built computer case made with pine
Pretty much all depending on how strong you want the color. I do between 5-20 parts.
How do I use this on laminate?
Really!!😂come on man

Just why use your hands..... I use brushes.
Why not wear gloves?
Please use gloves, our palms absorb everything!

Anna @khaki.kreations
Seal with an exterior topcoat with a strong UV protectant.
Teak oil is the best for outdoor wood furniture.
You will want to choose a clear coat that has very high UV protection
Would osmo oil work?

Can u use unicorn spit on on ceramic?
