This is a classic Chinese green laser 5mW. I have several at home. It works well for burning matches. But for night lighting from the perspective of the luminaire's eye, what this laser uses is good visibility. But from a longer oblique view, the light is very dim. Even some camera lenses cannot capture the thick green line in sufficient visibility at night
@@chan2798 Yes it works like the video. I can change the patterns like in the video and I can take the top lens off by unscrewing it and that will allow me to have that single-beam!
I live in very small town of Pakistan, in our town, this laser is easily available in local stores, the battery also comes with laser, and battery charger is also included in the package, and the laser works exactly the way it is working in this video, the price is cheap enough, it's only USD 6 (Equivalent to about 1100 Pakistani rupees,

5mW isn't dangerous unless you either stare at the focal point for ages, or just directly shove it in your eyes. That distance made the beam spread out to the point a quick flash in the eyes won't do anything.
I suggest wearing goggles while burning matches or other stuff with these lasers. I've heard that even indirect hits of laser beams can harm your eyes!
Yep, I got an indirect reflection from my 100 mW green laser, it got into my eye in the space under my protection glasses, and I had a dark area on that side of my peripheral vision for many months until it healed. People shouldn't f.k around with these high powered lasers and shouldn't point them at other people, and shouldn't falsely advertise them as being safe 5 mW versions when they're not.
I have such a laser, but it has a problem with the diameter of the laser light being large, as I did in the minute 3:53 without opening that lens. Is there any solution ?
On my laser I opened the top part and a spring fell out in between the diode and lense and when I put it back in the lense stopped working someone please help
I must say this “DON’T ever point ANY GROUND OBJECTS with your laser” Pointing a laser beam towards a building risks someone eye damage. DON’T EVER DO THAT. NEVER. I was frustrated the whole time watching this video. VERY DISTURBED.
I mean, that's true. The most important things to avoid when using such a powerful laser are windows, mirrors, reflecting objects, cars, people's eyes, and flying objects like planes. If you avoid them then you should be perfectly fine to use the tool. I am not sure of the legality of it, however.
@CAPTAIN BEANS It's like having 0.1% chance of risk (pointing towards random ground objects) vs. absolute zero risk (pointing to the empty sky). I'd vote for the latter. All the safety recommendations are there for a reason.
Someone miles away within visual line of sight would be able to see it in clear conditions, thus pointing them around a city randomly is a great way to end up getting a less than friendly knock on the door.
That is not 5mW, thats got to be a 3 wat laser at least. on eBay Chinese sellers list their lasers as 5mw (the legal limit) but they are actually much stronger. edit: I don't know shit about lasers so 3 wat is definitely not correct.
it probably is higher than 5mw, this specific model though you could unscrew and tighten the lens to make the laser way stronger than it's meant to be which i'm assuming is what he did
The visibility of the beam does depend on the colour and on particles in the air. I have worked with lasers up to 100 mW in the lab and you need some particles in the air to see the beam. But you can also see the beam of a 40μW laser in the right conditions
Do not point it at the sky unless there is no airplanes if you see an airplane do not shine your lasers on it because it will be at least 20 years in prison
Friend, I have a laser beam of 5000mw of output power, I would like to know if my laser beam is more powerful than the laser shown in the video, could you tell me which one is more powerful?
