Experiment: LAVA vs BULLETPROOF GLASS

- Amazing satisfying EXPERIMENT with unique types of glass:
● REAL multi-layer laminated bulletproof glass;
● Fireproof glass made using a unique factory production process and some ingenious tools and machines :) It’s secret is that it comes with special gel between the layers of glass (more info in the video);
● Car glass (tempered glass that’s usually pretty difficult to crush);
● Glass tower made of regular window glass;
Most interesting types of glass are getting crushed here!

@@examinus9737 Right you are; that's molten metal!

But this was just molten aluminum 800°C , pretty equivalent to molten lava 950°C.
So the video title wasn't even misleading. It was actually fair click bait.
Lava shrinks as it cools. So initially it sticks to the glass and grips it and then as it cools it breaks the glass by essentially pulling on it.

@Somar Chimon Unfortunately this would not work. Glass is already a poor conductor of heat. Modern windows usually have two panes with a thin layer of air between them to further improve insulation. I doubt you would gain much from this gel layer.
But the window will still let sunlight in, which is absorbed by surfaces in the room. This heats up these surfaces, which in turn start radiating back. But what they return is infrared radiation - to which glass is mostly opaque.
In other words: energy comes in as light, gets converted into heat, and then into infrared light which cannot leave the room easily. This is also how greenhouses work.
The fire resistant glass is amazing.
It must be fiendishly expensive.
Most definitely
I like your use of the word 'fiendishly'. 😈
It's not fire resistant, it just helped cool down the molten lava because of the sheets of plastic in between the panes

Well, using a bulletproof glass against lava is like chilling your computer with jalapeño sauce
The Trick is to use s glass with high meeting point an lower thermal expansion factor. The bullet prooved glass only did so well because it was much more thicker than the fire resistent glas. If you consider material cost /amount vs. safety the thermal glas does best.
