I am trying to cover a song every month by an artist that has affected me. Whose discography is varied, consistent, forward thinking and most of all fun.
I am not a singer, This is the first time I've sang on video as I want to practice singing. Any constructive criticism is welcome with regards to how to improve my skill.
Third in this series is from the artist Elliot Smith, A singer song-writer from the USA whose seminal Album Either/Or contains tracks like Between the Bars and Say Yes.
Known for his unconventional harmony and raw lyrics and production. Angeles is a complicated rhythmic behemoth with an interesting right hand pattern joined with extended chords and a simple top melody.
I learnt this track a few years ago and did it again for the series but this time thought to sing as well which was pretty hard.
While the original track has the Capo ( The black bar thing on the fretboard) I put it on the 3rd fret to suit my voice.
