Saw something yesterday that may have helped you. In a bucket at a thrift store were 4 yellow wheel chucks with round bar mounts bolted to them. Guessing they were used to secure kayaks. Brilliant
Thank you! I wanted to show others how I set up the Kayaks up on my civic. Appreciate the kind words and feedback! Thank you for watching and the support!
Chuck Norris awesome! It has been a perfect set up for several years and I am sure you will enjoy it as well. Thanks for the kind words and for watching this video! Cheers

Great video! I did notice one thing though, when you strap the second boat down you're actually suppose to go under the boat and through the j-cradle before coming back around to tighten it up. hope that makes sense, the manual has a picture
Excellent feedback! I just have it going through the top of the cradle and it makes total sense to also have it go through the bottom as well. I will try this out the next time I take the kayaks out. Thanks for the comment!
Hi, very helpful. We didn't see in the video where exactly you hooked your pully strap in the front of your car? Would you mind either posting or sending that additional info? Many thanks.
Hello! You are correct, I should have added this in. Thank you. Here are two links to what I use www.kayakacademy.com/products/seattle-sports-hood-loops & www.rei.com/product/778111/riverside-ratch-pack?sku=7781110015&store=54
@@MetroOnTheMove Link # 1 wasnt found. But with link #2 I am concerned this might scratch my car or damage my paint? I am new to this sport & this product. I just bought it a week ago. But my 1st experiment using it will be Friday when I get my new kayaks . . .
This is a great video. We are hauling 4 kayaks on top of our F150 with a similar setup. FYI, found your channel via An Adventure with Nick and Rachel. Fun find!!
Thank you my friend! This set up has been great and I live in the city where things are tight. Nick and Rachel are awesome people and fun to hike with. Good times! Thanks for the support!
So, I attach one Kayak to one side and mount it. Then with the second , I line it up against the other kayak on the other side of the mount and attach it. I also attach the front of the Kayaks to the front and back of the car so they stay put. Thanks for watching!!
Great setup and video man! Just wondering though, how come you didn't move the mount more towards the center to keep the kayaks aligned evenly in the middle? Personal preference? Also, is the rack noisy when laid down and driving without any kayaks? Thanks again for the help!
Andrew Henes these are both excellent questions. The first is personal preference. On the second question, if you keep the Jaylow on the rack it is very loud and causes noise if you don’t remove. Thanks for watching and the question!
OH MANNN . . . yessss it is NOISY (laid down without any kayaks on it). I had this product installed at my local river sports place a week ago & was unaware until THIS comment the laying down part could be taken off until actual use? So noisy, I considered returning it. Lots of high pitched whistling at high speeds on the interstate. Pretty annoying. THANX for your comment! So sounds like there is a solution to the noise? & I shouldnt return it?

Jordan Mueller about 9 ft. You need to have a second set of straps for the second Kayak. There is a walk through on how to stack on its side on the other side in this video. Thanks for watching!
Living in the city it is hard to store Kayaks.I have had mine for the past 12 years and it can be tough to store until needed. Hope you will get another Kayak soon! Cheers
Seriously, Thank you for making a better tutorial than yakima did.
Awesome! Glad this was helpful!

My best wishes. Keep rocking👍
Thank you my friend! Happy Holidays!
How do you lock your kayaks to the roof rack with the cables?
I run an extra clip resistant coated steel rope through the holes and into the mount. I secure with a lock. The mount has locks too.

Awesome video. The thing is I have two large fishing kayaks where the keel sticks out a lot more how would I keep it side ways ?
So, I attach one Kayak to one side and mount it. Then with the second , I line it up against the other kayak on the other side of the mount and attach it. I also attach the front of the Kayaks to the front and back of the car so they stay put. Thanks for watching!!

How big are your kayaks and what does the second one sit on?

I miss my kayak. 😔
