    I bloody love this narrator. His pronunciation is so utterly perfect, it's actually quite ridiculous! Like, nobody talks like this, not irl!

      do you think it detracts from your admiration of the narrator's annunciation by describing it so unimaginatively as "ridiculous"? could you not pause to think of a more traditional and appropriate adjective ??

    • @jonnylumberjack6223
      @jonnylumberjack6223 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@llwydanwyl I choose my words carefully, thank you. It is ridiculous. Have you ever, in your life, heard someone who talks like this? I think it's marvellous and utterly perfect for these docs. But it is so perfect, it's silly. Ridiculous, in fact. What an odd comment. Traditional?! Away ye go!

    Wonderful docco. William suffered from the hunger for power, like other characters before, since and to this day. I don’t really understand it but it’s definitely a part of our makeup.

      I think that the fact that he was an "illegitimate" son of the Norman ruler contributed to William's striving for achievement (overachievement) in order to 'more than prove' his 'legitimacy' imo. G Ire

      A great deal of European Monarchs are his direct descendants through multiple lines. These include Louis IV, Frederich the Great, Kaiser Wilhelm 1 & 2, Tsar Nicholas II, Franz Ferdinand and all of the British monarchs till date. That's quite a lot for someone who was called a Bastard.

    I love to listen to this narrator. As I am not a native speaker could someone tell me what dialect this is? It gives me 5 o'clock tea time with the Queen (or now King of course) and a spritz of scottish vibes.

    Memory UNLOCKED. Speaking of bastard son... I remember my one friend, i had a long time ago, it was in the 2000. He was born outside of marriage, we got in a fight and i called him a bastard, we were both the same age, young adults. I did know of the term but not sure if i knew the details, i dont think i knew it was meant for a son born out of wedlock, i just knew back then for some reason they called some 'astard sons' , i assumed it meant lazy, or good for nothing.. Anyways he ended the friendship over this. I thought it was the most stupidest reason to end it, over an old outdated term of it no one has used in a million yrs.
