Great review. Gris Charnel = Carnal grey. I am looking forward to the Extrait review. I am wearing Gris Charnel Extrait today for the first time since the spring. It's gorgeous.
Check out the Extrait. Much darker, deeper, richer, long lasting.
This was one of my most worn scents this summer. I know a lot of people like reserving this for fall-winter and to me, it's just too light to be worn outside of summer and maybe spring. I'd say the Extrait has that extra aromatic/spicy kick necessary to really do well in spring-fall weather which is when I typically give heavy rotation to the Extrait. These are one of BDK's few scents that don't scream designer imo, their recent direction as a brand is very offputting with the designer copycatting (see: Vanille Leather, Pas ce Soir Extrait) and lackluster blending (see: Ambre Safrano).
I live in the south where it gets really hot and humid.

I've been waiting for your review in this one. It definitely lasts a bit longer than I expected. Again, BDK has the best atomizers in my experience. They are not only super misty as you mentioned but you can also control the amount you pump. That's huge to me if I just want to reapply before after a full day ans I just want a little fragrance bump before going out for the evening. As always, a great review. You never disappoint. 👍
I've never tried this one but I've worn the extrait version and its one if the best scents I've smelled in years. I was taken aback on the first sniff and the dry down even better. It's out of this world for cooler weather. Its seamlessly blended and not too strong or too weak. I got 2 compliments from strangers which is not common for me. If give this one a 9 then the extrait you will likely find to be a 10.
It's a gorgeous one indeed. I'm surprised Aaron didn't find it too safe. Either he's mellowed, or very impressed, or both.
Safe is Pas Ce Soir. This one can be quite polarizing.
I believe he has mellowed just to attract more subs.
I agree with you Aaron that atomizers make huge differences, quality and usability wise.

Gris Charnel is so good! I have a full bottle of the Extrait but only a sample of the regular. But I’ll eventually get a full bottle of this as well closer to spring now that we’re in Fall/Winter which is where the Extrait shines.
Great review. I prefer this to the Extrait which think is a bit more masculine.

Ion know about you guys but Uncle Aaron mispronouncing words tells me he’s human and not a robot. Shows where there is a certain deemed “weakness” there’s also i very pronounced strength to ppl, no pun intended. Keep it up unk 💯
I am in LOVE with this, and sooooo is my “Jewish” friend, he writes the name of this perfume on walls and shouts it out sometimes! Teehee!
I just bought this several different of Gris I have to say it's very strong smelling it smells more like a man's cologne not sure I'll wear it I'll ask my bf if he wants it.

I have the extrait. First real week of fall and it smells fantastic, especially once it settles after about an hour.
Never get tired of smelling this. I think a true unisex frag however.
It lasts a very long time on clothing. It's also perfect for Nordic weather as the summer is never too hot here so I can wear it year round.
I'm in love with this Perfume! Going to buy a full bottle next month hopefully.

I bought both! Very similar in notes but also different enough in how they represent their notes. I also find the original so airy with a beautiful scent trail. The Extrait has similar but darker facets that last a few hours longer but stay closer to skin and presents itself in a more intimate manner. I also sometimes start the day with the original and layer on the Extrait as the evening unfolds.
Would love to see a Cardamom fragrance in your line up Aaron.

Gris Charnel didn't do it for me. Maybe it was a preconceived idea when I tested it. However, my noob nose found that what I was expecting came from Tom ford Noir Extreme. Tom Ford fragrances have something that make me like them instantly and make them grow on me until they are discontinued, that is :))
This is my signature scent… adore it so, all year around. I don't live in a hot/humid climate, so can't speak for that weather wear. For me, all year, anywhere anytime sensual deliciousness. Loved your review Aaron, just adore your content! 🥰

I think you’re right, tattoos seem to have an effect on how perfumes perform. However on my skin perfumes perform better on tattoo (only one of my arms is tattooed so it’s easy for me to compare).
Most importantly: I absolutely adore your content, you’re so passionate and genuine about how you feel about fragrances :)

tattoo color is captured in collagen underneath the top layer of the skin. perfume is sprayed on the top layer. so there shouldn't be any interaction

However I swear perfumes last longer on the tattooed arm. Could the ink have an influence on skin chemistry?

Aaron reminds me of Dr Strange when he starts cooking in the air with the hand gestures. Instead of activating spells, he is air cooking perfumes with Vanillin, Ambroxan, ect. :)

I bought this in the découverte box and funnily I was wondering about the atomisers. The scent is super likable and easy. The projection is pretty lame on me to be honest. It’s a little bit too fluffy perhaps so it doesn’t ding you. Would work for summer because of that for me.

I might be wrong but I'm noticing new color grading in last few videos - eye color clashes with the tone of the tattoo - giving me the impression that tattoos are glowing a bit and creating this mystical aura.

I cannot stomach this one. I had to give it away. It literally gave me a migraine and made me nauseous. I had to scrub it off. It just doesn’t agree with my body chemistry… I have seen other people saying the same thing I did on other reviews. I’m sure it smells good on others but not me unfortunately 😑
