    China is an amazing option! I taught in the Middle East and turned down an offer from ADEC because job security is poor and I’ve known multiple people who got let go one year into a three year contract. You also don’t have a ton of control over WHERE or WHAT you teach. I went with a school in Kuwait instead but despite the tax free salary and free accommodation found the cost of living prohibited me from reaching my financial goals, so I moved back to China and prefer it SO much more. I now earn more than I would have in the UAE and the lifestyle is a lot more modern and convenient, too!
    I know the Western media was all about the downsides of China’s Zero COVID policy, but I never had a curfew like my former colleagues in Kuwait, and things are totally open again, so I am really glad I stuck it out!

    I'm starting college this year!! It's a online so I can go as fast as I want, it's in B.S. International Business so it'll help me learn about how to finance and what not, thought it would a useful degree if I was going to get one to teach English.
    My top countries of interest are Japan and South Korea since I'll need to pay off loans when it comes time. At some point I'd love to teach in Germany or France, but heard their a bit competitive. Thanks for the information!

      Depending on your loan company, it’s often possible to defer payments while teaching abroad - especially if you are receiving a stipend instead of a salary!

    Hey there, Im interested in doing the boot camp. I would fall into the "soon to be retired" category and want to learn more about how to go about getting the right education etc. I work full time at the moment, am also in Sydney - sooo would like to know how long each session goes for, and what times. I understand that the sessions would be recorded and I could access them this way if times dont work for me here.

    In Thailand teachers do not get paid during the school holidays. Is this a common thing when teaching overseas? Which countries did you have the best experiences?

    • @ESLTeacher365
      @ESLTeacher365  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my experience, you either aren’t paid over summer break for example or you can ask to have payments spread out. I always worked at summer camps to supplement my income.

    How strong does your second language need to be? Im a native English speaker but im assuming i need to speak the countries main language. Some offer classes once you are there but wouldn't I need a certain proficy before travelling there?

    • @ESLTeacher365
      @ESLTeacher365  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are being hired for your ability to teach English and in your case, your native accent, so it's not a requirement to speak the language. The only time this isn't true is if you are teaching in a bilingual program or school. That being said, it's beneficial for your day to day life to at least know the basics. I recommend getting a language partner or private tutor on Preply.

    My native language isn't English but if I get a Cambridge English certificate for level C1, wouldn't that be even better? Considering a lot of native speakers even don't get to that level of English, grammar wise. That being said, I would love to teach in Japan or South Korea.

    • @ESLTeacher365
      @ESLTeacher365  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      South Korea only gives out English teaching visas to people from 7 native speaking countries. Japan requires you to have 12 years of schooling in English. Some countries do accept non-natives and may require a C1 or C2 level of English.
