deadmau5 always says he doesn't know theory, but he guessed the scale by ear. I studied music briefly and I couldn't have told.
Yeah I feel like he does have a sense of it.
He's just being humble. He clearly knows theory, I think he just chooses to go with whatever sounds good to him as opposed to what is 'right'.
Hes being grounded. Compared to someone who studies theory he doesnt know much, but making music for decades instills you with rudimentary things like identifying scales.

Where did you learn how to get certain sounds like this? Is it just messing around for years and figuring it out or is there somewhere to learn? I’m never able to find a place to learn what I want to.
Resampling! A lot of the bass guys use this technique. Look into some of Mr Bill or Noisias videos on using audio for basses.

your vocals were kind of out of place. deadmau5 and all his cohorts using their sidechain compression technique the French made famous on Canadianized variations of American music, kind of simple.
The vocals make more sense if you hear the second drop. It's a pun.
I really like the song but the melody kinda sux in my opinion.

It's just going up and down the Dorian scale, it's so simple yet so catchy in my option and the accidentals make it sound really different too
