Oh! I’m so excited for this! I spent ‘23 learning about and acquiring makeup. This year, I’m paring waaaay down to just my favorites. Now, I want to learn about brushes - but the prices (esp for a relative beginner like me) are daunting! Still, I suspect that they would make a difference in application. At some point, I would love to see a video on application differences between synthetic/natural brushes, different textures and sizes, etc. For example, what is the difference between using a synthetic or natural foundation brush? Thank you for all that you do!
Sure! I went over a few details in my fude foundation brush video, but to quickly go over a few points: Synthetic fibers are more resilient with liquids and creams because the filaments don’t absorb product like natural hairs do. That also means you can use less product, and wash them more often Natural bristles absorb product, leaving behind a more skin like finish. But the more frequent washing can affect the longevity of the brush.
I built my brush collection slowly over 5 years or so. Sephora was phasing out their pro collection and I would buy them one by one as they went on clearance. The rest of my brushes were Valentines gifts from my husband or I used my Allure subscription to get great prices, too.
Alicia, thank you for the effort and investment you bring to your videos. I just finished my order from FUDE BEAUTY thanks to you!! I ordered makeup brushes according to your recommendation. It's a pleasure to watch you. I learn a lot from you about the world of makeup and beauty. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!❤❤😍🙏🤗
I love, love, love your brush videos!! (My wallet cries when you do one, but I get so excited!😂) You are so good at educating about brushes and describing what they do. I’ve learned so much from you…and added so many awesome brushes to my collection. I got some of the Tauhaus brushes you did a video on last year. There was one that was meant for highlighter but I use it for eyeshadow and I liked it so much I bought a second one. Very inexpensive, too!!
I think having a stiffer cheek brush is essential especially when my cheeks tend to grab powder. The stiffer brushes do a much better job blending than a super soft one even though we all love the feeling of a soft brush.
Another great video Alicia. For ezcema sensitive skin, i dare not get animal hair and i use synthetic hair brushes for precision but majority of the time i use my fingers to put eye shadow on. Elf eye shadow stick for one and done shade. I like the R-S2&3, mizuho brushes. They look fun.
Off topic but I love your eye and lip look here, I've been trying to do something similar (but failing) just this morning!! Do you mind sharing what shades you used? Now I will actually watch the video which is on point because I want to try fude for the first time :)
For sure! Was it the first or last one? I think the first I used Viseart’s Petit Pro in Solstice, and the 2nd was Pat McGrath’s Holiday 2023 quint in Bronze Ecstasy. I think for lip I had on the Saie Glossybounce in “Dip”!
@@aliciaarcher haha well I like both, but I had barely started watching the video when I commented, so it was the first one! Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know, I want to master more elevated neutral looks - my personality is like Blitz Emerald or Gigabyte from PMG but my job is like a tasteful eyeshadow stick from Bobbi Brown, sigh. I think you've sold me on that Tanseido highlighter brush and maybe also the candle shaped one just before it as well :)
Alicia, love hearing brushes from you and especially under $50. Your review on them is so detailed and thorough. Thank you for introducing some great affordable brushes!! 😊❤️
This is such a helpful video. Thank you for sharing and making it both insightful and interesting to watch. Am interested to try some Duda brushes and will be ordering some of your recommendations.
I am so addicted to natural hair brushes. I have a Chikuhodo synthetic stippling brush that is under $20 that I am testing out as a dupe for the Sonia J fusion pro. Wish me luck 😂
Alicia is there just a list of these brushes, I keep trying to go back and forth looking them up just thought if there was a list make it easier.. it there isn’t no problem. Thanks Joy
Hi Alicia! I've been studying your previous videos about the Chikuhodo J-G series and the Hourglass palette. I'd like to buy the J-G1 powder brush (hoping to use it to apply blush for a more natural and diffused look). Do you think the J-G1 brush will be too big to pick up the Hourglass Jellyfish product? Which brush do you think is good to pick up and apply those finishing powder (e.g. Diffused Light)? I'm really debating between J-G1, J-G2 and J-G3. Need some help. Thank you!
Hi Friend! I was considering the Beautylish Lunar New Year brush with the adorable little dragon 🐉 or the tiger 🐯. They say that it’s a collab between them and skilled brush makers in Japan, so I’m thinking it would be Fude. What do you think? Is it worth it or should I stick with the other Fude brands instead? Price is $125.
@@aliciaarcherThank you! It looks similar to a Chikuhodo face brush that I have and the artistry looks high quality. Never had an issue with a Beautylish product.
Hi Alicia, thank you for your great videos! I don't understand English well and want to ask you a question about the Bisyodo foundation brush. Can it be easily used with liquid foundation, as you show in the video ? Thank you for your videos ! (Thanks Google Translate !) :)

mizuho cmp510 is sooo versatile, perfect way to start out this roundup! I especially love it when traveling
It’s wonderful! You can’t go wrong with that gem of a brush!
I love learning from you!! I’m also loving that you’re revisiting past favorites and diving back to your collection. Thanks for all you do!!
Aaah! I’m addicted to buying fude brushes. 🥴
I get it 🤣 There are a few I also have on my radar 👀
Me too. I have more brushes than makeup for sure.
I could watch and listen to you talk brushes all day lol. I have a plan this year to get myself some Sonia G eye brushes for my birthday in March. 😊 ❤

Right on time as I am wanting to invest a bit more on natural hair brushes, rephr has been great but I want a little more. Thank you ❤
Yes, Rephr is a great place to start, but also nice to explore other brands ☺️
Great reviews, Alicia! Great details. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching!

Thank you so much for doing this video. This is so helpful, especially the demo/breakdown of each brush. Great video. Thanks again.
I may "need" to get a few of these 😬🤣
🫣🤣
Looking forward to geeking out on brushes with you. I have to rein in the desire to get more though, haha.

Thanks for the video
Thank you for watching!
Thanks Alicia! Going to pick up a few of the smaller eyeshadow brushes to blend eyeliner and concealer ☺️
Hey Sharon!! These would work, or Sonia’s new Traditions 1!
@@aliciaarcher Oh yes! I still need to catch up on your recent videos, and that was at the very top of my list to watch ;)

Oooo keep me updated!!
I like the pony, weasel, sable, fox, badger, squirrel and goat. But I am fascinated by the innovative synthetic fibres.
Need to see high end over 50$ next 😊
I’m interested! Do you happen to have a discount code?🥰
I have a few! Try KINKYSWEAT20 or KINKYSWEAT10

It’s definitely Fude! They probably collab’d eith Chikuhodo considering their history.

What is the eyeshadow you are wearing in this video? It’s gorgeous!
I believe it’s Viseart’s Cashmerie Charmeuse!
I’m curious what type of brushes you reach for to apply those products that like to go hard pan with super soft brushes.

Hi! It can, but Fude Beauty recommends that you wipe after use. I usually wipe the excess off with a microfiber towel.
