Cheese as a main character would probably go like the Patrick Star show, so I doubt it would have done that well. Heavy comedy relief characters like Cheese are excellent in small doses, and infuriating in larger amounts. Like a friend you never-EVER want to live with.
I like the part where Cheese goes into Harrimans office screaming like Coco and Harriman says 'Oh No! Not another one!" and carries him out of the office and drops him in the kitchen.
Its because now a days they make almost the whole characters in the show derps which makes it really annoying. Back then cheese or fredfred burger have different characters with different personalities. Seeing them react with each other makes it funny to see. Like batman and joker we love to see them fight or even just talk to each other because they are both unique in there own way joker is the psychotic clown that thinks everything is a joke interacting with a serious never smile vigilante.
Honestly, my issues with the character (and the show said character came from, now that I think about it) kind of come from a mixture of shitty luck, shitty timing, an obnoxiously ubiquitous amount of advertising and obsessive fan crazes, and being at a time where my overall health was an all-time low, has pretty much summed up my sentiment over the whole thing as this; 1:15-1:19.
