Ponyta is definitely my favorite shiny, today i hunted him and it only took 57 minutes for his glorious blue flames to appear on my screen, im so hyped.
It has happened to me TWICE in 3 days. Tried to get a Caterpie and got a Pidgey instead, and today I tried to go for Eevee and got Chansey. I mean, I'm not complaining but come on...

Gachastudio Tiger I've found that the Serebii 1/345 or 1/314 odds seem to be inconsistent with most shiny hunts. As I've seen on Reddit and stuff, people are sceptical about the real odds and if there are any other factors or errors within the game that cause the shiny to not appear particularly quickly. In an area where 6 pomemon spawn at a time, a single shiny hunt is expected to last about 1 hour (~600 encounters, depending on the Pokemon), but I'd estimate 95% of people's results are inconsistent with those odds--the odds of a hunt taking 6+ hours and spanning 3000+ encounters are 1% or less if the reported Catch Combo (+Lure and/or Shiny Charm) rate is correct, and it doesn't help that the guy who posted it on Serebii is being a douche about people questioning his data. I know the RAM Theory was admitted fabricated by the guy who posted it, but most people with successful shiny hunts didn't wait around at a chain of 31--they kept on catching their target Pokemon. The community is still trying to figure out what's up, and as far as I know there's no official consistent solution. I'd say just don't do nothing; keep building your chain and maybe exit and reenter the area from time to time. I'm not having any luck either. Sorry for any typos or misinformation

I hate when he says he's got the shiny but hasn't actually _caught_ it. Until you hear that satisfying click of capture, _then_ you can start patting yourself on the back on a job well done _after_ successfully catching the shiny. I've learned very quickly _not_ to snap pictures during the process and just wait until I actually catch the shiny; I've had a couple flee, one was a Shiny ditto I'm still salty over. Never count your chickens before they hatch.
I tried shiny hunting Chansey in the in between Saffron and Lavender. It was a nightmare. For at least a %2 chance of finding one, 30 catch rate. Yeah... I gave up after 3 catch combos... Well, at least during the beginning of my game, I got a full Odds random encounter shiny Vulpix. I evolved it into a Ninetales, nicknamed it Ninetwirl. And I still have that shiny in my party today. :3 Yay
i was watching this and then i went to my switch and i was like “now i have motivation to shiny hunt” and i went to viridian forest and found a shiny pidgey in literally 2 minutes. my first shiny ever, im so happy

Ponyta took me 4 hrs but definitely worth it. It might be the best shiny in gen 1
I evolved mine, not because I like the purple more than the flaming blue, but because I wanted to ride its majestic ass around.

I remember yesterday I went to go find a shiny Caterpie but instead I found a shiny Bulbasaur and Bellsprout but not Caterpie :,)
