It's amazing how damage control doesn't exist anymore. Not too long ago when I worked at Treyarch, every company was so quick to deploy Damage Control.
9:39 Wow that bottom post. What a messed up mindset! He wants to "go back to the woods" so hes going to trade his job with a black guy someday, talk about racist! Not to mention, if that is what he really wants, why isn't he? These days living in nature doesn't separate you from society anyway, not if you don't want it too. I live on a homestead myself and yet you'll still see me playing a game online and participating in TH-cam.
Apparently the post was from 2020, during the BLM riots. I think he was clearly trying to virtue signal by proving he's "an ally" or "one of the good ones" but didn't think for 2 seconds how bigoted his statement is.
To me personally the pronouns aren't the problem. They are a symptom. It's like when you see someone with hair dyed purple, nose ring and "problematic glasses". It doesn't always mean that this person is an unhinged terminally online lunatic, but that's the case more often than not. if a game greets you with the character creator that has pronoun selection that is independent from the sex (or as games these days call it - body type A/B) of the character you're making - it's a sign that there will be a lot of Veilguarding and Dustborning ahead. Having said that - "they/them" in a fantasy setting? That's immersion breaking. Unless that person is possessed by several demons at the same time or something. If the devs want a "nonbinary" character in a fantasy game they should come up with made up fantasy terminology and some lore to integrate it into the setting. After all, some mythologies have gods who can transform into a man, a woman and even animals and inanimate objects. It can be done well without shattering the illusion. Then again, we all know that the reason this stuff isn't in the game because it benefits the story. It's crude propaganda with all the subtlety of a brick through the window. They don't care about the quality of the product they make. Just like an animal infected with rabies only cares about spreading it to others, so are those who are infected with the woke mind virus.
Yes I agree, the pronouns aren't THE problem, but a small piece, or a symptom of the problem. I refuse to accept things that make no sense to be normalized. As for the emersion breaking aspect, in my first game, Nexus Defenders, the virtual assistant character initially had Gen-Z slang in his dialog. The point was to make him a comedic character. None of my playtesters liked it. They said it didn't fit the setting. The modern-day language also ruins the world building. So for a fantasy game, even despite the fact that you have witches that can turn into cats and shape shifters, just adding modern day language breaks the world. It's like saying "you struck out" in a fantasy world in which baseball never existed, it doesn't fit.
@@SabrPath Usage of modern day slang also dates the game. When that Easter egg Tauren unit from Starcraft 2 mentions Jonas brothers for example (although it's a pop culture reference, not slang - but the idea is the same). Speaking of phrases that make no sense in the setting. Molotov's cocktails in Arcanum rubbed me the wrong way. The setting is steampunk, loosely based on the Victorian period. Molotov cocktails are named after the Soviet foreign affairs minister from the 1930s.
If there`s something in the game that bothers me deeply and i have the option to turn it off in the Menu i will turn it off and continue playing. Otherwise i may end up just playing another game. I get 4 indie games for the price of one AAA title.
Glad to see that someone else realizes that they've been dividing people for years now. Unfortunately, due to social inertia and overcompensation, it's unlikely that people will be able to restore their relationships anytime soon. At least not without some serious changes in the distribution of social capital. Get well, bro.
Yeah, they've been trying to divide our families for years. Not only do they want us divided by race just as I mention in this video, they want us divided by political views as well. Many public personalities have been encouraging their audiences to disconnect with their family members who disagree with them politically.
"Personal pronouns" make no logical sense. The point of pronouns is to replace a proper noun with a short generic term. If the pronoun is unique or specific, you may as well use the name. Its also a power play since pronouns are not even used when a person is present: "This is how you must speak." It turns out not everyone is allowed special pronouns. Try selecting "attack-helicopter" as your pronoun and see what response you get.
This has never been normal speech in all of human history and any culture outside of modern-Western cultures will not understand the request when asked about preferred pronouns.
Coincidentally for me, every game I've played that's had optional pronouns not linked to the players sex has been disappointing and included some form of acceptance and normalization of mental illness. We don't accept and normalize bulimia nervosa as a body dysmorphic mental illness so we shouldn't normalize this stuff either.
I haven't played Cyber Punk 2077 or Baldur's Gate 3, I hear those are full of far progressive social politics but I also hear lots of people love those two games. Those two games seem to be the outliers when it comes to games including heavy handed social politics. The rest focus more on "the message" than to actually have a good game.
Or just TikTok in general. I think TikTok should detect if someone's face is upset, and then requires them to solve a logic puzzle before they can be allowed to post anything online.
I'm not saying all Muslims are from the same community, I'm saying my family is part of the same Muslim community. As in, we go to the same Mosque and interact with the same families. I'm using the word "community" correctly, unlike the people who say it incorrectly and claim all Black people are part of a "community".
A pronouns not a big deal? Let me know in the comments!
obsidian: hires a racist.
racist: does racist things.

If my company started requiring these courses I'd start asking questions.

Yeah there are so many games available that I don't feel like I'm "missing out" by skipping on a game that includes content that I don't like.
Keep up the posts ahih.
Definitely!

Makes me think of the virtue signaling going on with people videoing their mental breakdowns when Trump won.

We're not a community. We're all Muslim.
So you are a single community then.
