She had been in all yhr north of Albania and then moved to the south and said that I didn't have any problem during my days here more then in Paris. Ironically people here still think that Albania has a war, or guns, or dangerous around, hence my comment above, that there are no street crimes, only isolated cases between people who have an issue. Tourists are safe even if they meet someone from organized crime families, the latter are still respectful towards the others.

32:00 that's my home town, Gjirokaster, so nostalgic about it I was 12 when I left and now 45 My age allows me to remember how vivid the city was All the people with dreams and aspirations left At first people started leaving for short periods only, maybe a few months, then coming back again, the ties were still strong, the communities vivid although poor Back then none could imagine that most of us would leave forever, and maybe coming back for a few days once in one or few years And yes we always had tourists in Gjirokaster, even during communism. We as children had learnt to say, bic (the pen) and gum (chewing gums), so we could get some. The interaction was a bit limited though, a policeman or some adult could intervene saying to the children "that's enough"
