  • In this video ‪@RubenLenten‬ tries out the new ‪@flyozone‬ Vortex Ultra-X. This is the first Aluula Kite from Ozone.
    Using this new, lighter and stiffer material allows this 3 strut design to have more stability and responsiveness. This stiffer frame holds the overall profile better and with a 16 point leading edge bridle attachment in combination with the double transversal shaping the canopy is ultra tight.
    What I felt in this kite was very special as I have been flying the Ozone Edge for a few years, which is of course a powerhouse of a kite. The Vortex still has that feeling of riding powerful, fast but now with added control and maneuverability it just puts this kite in the next level.
    I’d say this kite is easy enough to learn your first heliloops and kiteloops on but also caters for the high performance double loopers. An incredible achievement from the Ozone design team who use their own OZ-CAD software to make the finest tweaks. Another huge benefit from Ozone is that they produce all their products in their own factory giving them full control over quality and performance.
    If you get the chance, give this one a try… or just buy it. Trust me, you’ll fly with a big fat smile on your face.

    Hi mate! Looking for a new Allula kite to replace my Core XR. I like big air, looping and old school tricks. Options are XRpro, Evo D-lab and Vortex. Lift and hang time are a plus for me, and also a small loop radius. I also prefer light bar pressure. Which one would you suggest?

    • @Kitemana
      @Kitemana  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Maybe the new one coming from Core, the Pace... haven't flown it just yet, but the Evo Dlab and Vortex I have. Can't go wrong with any of these 3 I believe. De Evo Dlab probably the easiest and lightest steering kite, or the Pace. Vortex great feel, great power, great control with plenty of lift and hangtime. Dlab a bit too easy sometimes imo. :-P Sorry wish I could be of more help but just check em all out and do what feels best for you. - Ruben

    hey Ruben, nice review, I like the Vortex and consider it an absolute astounding kite, I have only one doubt, the lower wind ranges... are really so hi in respect to others kites? because I was looking for a lighter version of a 13m Edge (that can go almost with 10 knots in the low end) but I understood from Ozone website that a 13m Vortex can't even get close to the low end of the Edge... 😢 this mean that the Vortex 13m is not suitable for 10/12 knots or just that I will freeride but nothing more?

      What I've heard from friends who have vortexes.... Great high end, not great low end. So probably not a great kite for what you're looking for.

      @@axarothfiefa6676 yeah it just seems that way... will probably wait Enduro or Edge ultra X in 14 or 13m sizes

      Just buy an 11m duotone kite those work in 10 knots according to the website, physics don't apply to duotone 😂

      @user-vv2wx4kc1k 😄 at the moment I'm using an ozone Alpha V2 12m, but being a one strut I can go with 11 knots but not that much upwind

      I have a 9m and 11m Vortex. I've found the low end to be very good. I'm over 90k and the low end seems better than the Edge to me - I'm not sure what all this 'low end isn't good' is all about but its certainly not what I experience on this kite...

    I would say it's the least informative review I've seen.
    The only thing I got: is it's like an edge but less power and faster and fun to ride 😂

      @janvanbunningen6468 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah.. I feel like all almost all reviews are like this. The problem is they cannot say anything negative about the kites cause they need to sell them.

    • @Kitemana
      @Kitemana  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'll make sure to go full on negative with the next review... just bash every kite out there. Hah, truth is... there are hardly any bad kites out there. The quality is good, the performance is great, and it's mostly just personal preference for your type of riding style and the conditions you experience. The difference in performance will be felt in these high performance kites for sure. To really get a gooooood review I should test all sizes, in all conditions, fly them back to back with the old/other model(s), and perhaps other kites. That's a mission. Be my guest! I just try to share my first feelings of the kite and this is what I felt... I wonder what you would feel and say? Ah this kite steers too easy, too fast, I am not sure if I like the lightness of the kite as it just blows away on the beach? Too light to travel, now I pay less overweight. Damn it! Haha... If you have any questions or things you'd like to find out specifically, let me know. - Ruben

      @@Kitemana i get your point but maybe you can highlight differences in kites a little more without being negative. Now it looks like are kites are equally amazing without any differences. I’m sure you are familiar with the reviews of Jason Montreal, he really is able to point out differences in kites and be very informative. No saying you need to copy that or anything..

      @@Kitemana Hi Ruben, I don't mean you need to tell every negative aspect of the kite. It's clear that all kites we have today are generally good, but some things and behavior of one kite could be great for one level of riding and discipline and bad for another.
      So all I want to say is, I want to understand if this exact kite is good for my level and discipline or not. If you have Edge and Enduro model lineup where this kite stands? How it flies compared to other alula kites on the market. Who needs this kite and who doesn't?
      I'm 100% agree here with @janvanbunningen6468 here.
      And yes, I would like to know how this kite behaves in light wind because I use my 7-8 m kites for foiling in light wind days. It's not a main thing I focus on, but understanding how kite fly in this conditions definitely helps me. 😁
