bid price is a price for which somebody is willing to buy something, An offered price, or “ask” price, which is the price at which people are willing to sell.
No, you're saying it in literal English terms, which is wrong. Take it as: how many of the quote currency is able to buy the base currency. For instance USD/CAD... How much CADs will I use in buying one USD, that is the ASK price. Whereas, if you were to sell the USD in the currency pair USD/CAD, it'd be how much of USD can I sell in order to buy CAD. do you understand?
so an example is if gbpusd has a spread of 1.0 pips and all I have to do is to add 1.0 pips to my stoploss ? stoploss: 1.39135+1.0pips = 1.39145 correct?
It's quite clear that the BID is the selling price and the ASK is the buying Maybe what is confusing most and probably needs clarification is the process to place the order can you BID without ASKing first ...
You are wrongly interpret. For your kind information, Bid is the price you can buy at Ask the price you can sell at Usually the bid price will be smaller than the ask price.
If you're on mt4 (which most forex traders use), then the bid is the price you sell at. If you are on direct market access, then bid is the price you can buy at.
