Ramapoossy made opposition to NHI a racial or apartheid issue. This is patently disingenuous: the majority of taxpayers are black. So opposition by TAXPAYERS to NHI is not whites or Afrikaaners trying to keep blacks down. He also suggested that we wrongly dismiss the public sector healthcare as low quality... if it is so high quality why the desperation to sneak into private healthcare that TAXPAYERS have built up for decades with their contributions? There is so much talk of equity and equality... let me ask this then: - How come I, the taxpayer, do not get perks like a free car, free fuel, generators and other things that ministers get? If ministers get those things to incentivize them to keep the country going, why am I, the final payer, not equally incentivized? Why do I not get a tax discount on my house, car, fuel, water and other facilities? What benefit do I get for paying for South Africa to keep going? Why was this bill pushed through regardless of opposition but we still can't get lifestyle audits done? I am angry at these people because as I type this I am going to be working through the evening to earn my income. It is not fun, it is hard work... I sacrifice my time, health and family quality time to make the money happen, then this man has the nerve to say I am priviledged? I'm a black man trying to rise from the gutter so don't throw "racist" at me. I pay through the nose every month 30% of my money so you can look after people who don't contribute yet you were busy congratulating yourself for leading us out of loadshedding. Loadshedding YOU caused! ANC is seriously taking TAXPAYERS for granted and treating them like worthless slaves just there to be abused and dispossessed at the threat of imprisonment. One day soon it will end.
😢😢😢South Africa is going down the drain our children no need to go to school to live better life and encourage other kids that education pays and education is the key to success 😢
You know this will raise more taxes and increase the cost of living for the poor people so tell me how much will the vat for bread go up tell me will the poor people still be able to buy food. Let's see how starvation will be after people have been taxed to death by the ANC. How many lives will be lost. They always say think before you leap but nobody is thinking. There are state hospitals with the best equipment but nobody knows how to use them rather the public hospital should learn by the private hospital how to follow an order. Long ago we had a great public hospital look at how they are being run now 30 years they had time to improve but they have looted and rob this country wake up people jobs and opportunities are going out the door investors will see this as a loss and we can stand to lose more if there were more jobs people will get better health care and be able to afford it if there where more people to invest in the country we will live better come on how many have work. The fat cats just get fatter by the day sorry but i hope everyone wakes up and sees that this will be the worst thing for your SA
I have bad news for you. There is a common misunderstanding when it comes to grants and VAT and taxpayers. When a grant recipient goes to buy a loaf of bread and pays x% VAT it is not the grant recipient paying the tax, you, dear taxpayer, are paying... the recipient is just transmitting your payment in return for a free loaf of bread. In other words, YOU paid for the bread AND the VAT. So while it seems like there would be a sudden hardship on recipients, the truth is it will just be an increase in TAXPAYER hardships.
Does anyone else remember Rama assuring everyone that "solidarity funds" for COVIS would be safe? He gave staunch guarantees. What happened just 2 weeks later? To this day... how is prosecution going? Where is Mkhize?
The timing is perfect, too. The ANC knows this will be challenged successfully in court, but signing the bill will have a net benefit on their election campaign, and they will get tonnes of free media coverage in the process. Those who support this bill and ANC are getting conned AGAIN. What we desperately need is a new government capable of growing this economy well above the 4% mark. Everyone wants something, but the government can not deliver if our economy continues to stagnate.
The healthcare system in South Africa is in a dire state, primarily due to extensive corruption within the ANC, which has siphoned funds from the health sector for years. Despite their claims that these issues stem from 30 years ago, the reality is far more current and pressing. The government's new plan to dismantle private medical aids and redirect those funds into the public sector is alarming. Given the government's track record, there's a valid concern that these funds will disappear just as previous resources have. This move appears to be a desperate attempt by a struggling party to exploit the mostly unemployed population, extracting money that many simply don't have, to further enrich corrupt officials.
Equality???what about us actually working that have to work hard to pay our medical aid and then we have to pay for those who have no intention or working and contributing! Every day we workers barely make it financially and now more money is going to be taken from our budget to carry those yet again who do not want to work . Those standing around on street corner at 8am in the morning drinking beers with their 350 SASSA Grant money while we off to work so we can pay for their beers! Then when they get sick from their lifestyle choices we have foot the bill again so they are able to get private Healthcare! This is ridiculous!
The timing is perfect, too. The ANC knows this will be challenged successfully in court, but signing the bill will have a net benefit on their election campaign, and they will get tonnes of free media coverage in the process. Those who support this bill and ANC are getting conned AGAIN.

Where do you think "free" Healthcare comes from? People still need to be paid. It will cost the taxpayer a crap load of money. So guess what taxpayers are going to do? Leave. Where is the money going to come from then? Only 3 million taxpayers provide 90% of income tax revenue. Do you think we will stay? No we will leave and take the tax money with. What happens then? Economic degradation and no money to pay for the poor's "free" Healthcare. Also we don't want even more of our hard earned money to go to a government which justs steals it anyway. This bill does nothing for any person in SA, rich or poor, everyone will suffer financially except the ANC moronic politicians who stuff their pockets
