    Just to say it out loud; a horn is required vehicle equipment in all 50 states. If you happen to do this mod and your state does annual vehicle inspections - be sure to restore the horn before getting the inspection. Then you can re-mod your Fisker if you want.

      The pedestrian warnings system (PWS) has a speaker under the car near the front right wheel. Undo about four screws/clips and pull down the underbody cover and reach inside. You need to disconnect the wire plug and that's it.

    Great information. Just wondering where you get those instructions from. I have a crack windshield here in Uk , taking ages to get hold of the screen today from Autoglass. Expecting to be fitted but after an hour, they call me that they will not going to try because it's lack of manual. Fisker here has almost stalled now. Matt, Good stuff. Question, the service lid on my car is made up of 2 pieces, the front plate and the clip plate. The clip plate, right side only, has detached from the front plate. The front plate and clip plate still attach to the car but the right side of the service lid needs to be reattached to the clip plate. I tried glue, it didn’t work but maybe there’s a specific glue needed to refasten the 2 pieces? Thoughts?

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So your service lid has separated. I haven't heard of that happening. You could use a strong adhesive like a two-part epoxy specifically for plastics.

    Can you clarify the onscreen note about 2.1. What happens in 2.1 that impacts the horn? Do you not recommend this mod to foks with 2.1? I am very concerned for my neighbors that the alarm will go off, so I want to implement this fix. But unclear what the 2.1 note means.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry if I wasn't clear. I just meant that update 2.1 has caused numerous Oceans to get bricked due to draining the 12V battery. As a precaution, removing the horn/siren will make it easier to get into the hood if that does happen. Less disruption and annoyed neighbors. Even better, use a 12V battery tender so the update 2.1 does not cause any issues.

    My car is dead since the 2.2 update. I was trying to charge the battery, but the siren would just go off, so I stopped charging it. I wonder if I can pull the fuse when the battery "dead" ... if that'd be okay, then I can proceed to charge it.

    Can you (or anyone) PLEASE tell me the best ways of how to PREVENT 12 volt battery failure in the first place?? What exactly is causing them to die?

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      There are many reasons over the last year. Some of the cars had issues with stressed batteries during shipping. Some have the negative terminal issue where the sensor is blocked due to the angle. EVs in general are very hard on 12V batteries due to their inherent design (high voltage pack is separate from the 12V for safety, etc). Finally, there is a lot of vampire drain when the car is parked due to the subsystems running. The 2.0 and 2.1 updates have relieved a lot of that, but there is still significant for some Oceans. Previous software let the 12V battery get too low (below 12.0 volts) and this caused a lot of errors on the driver screen to show up. Even if everything is working fine, you can expect 2-3 years at most for a 12V battery. I have replaced mine twice in my six year old Tesla.

    • @jeffreymills4307
      @jeffreymills4307 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MTNRanger I had no idea that it is expected to only last 2-3 years. Will there be a "low 12v battery" indicator? Once it dies, how/where do we replace it? Sorry about all the questions, just stressed.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@jeffreymills4307 Yes, the car can give a low 12V battery indicator. But not one indicating that the battery needs to be replaced. To keep the battery in best condition, I recommend using a battery tender when not being driven for a while. Also so the 2.1 update doesn't brick the car, I also recommend using the tender. Do a search on my channel, I have a lot of videos on the 12V battery.
