i am pretty sure with some mods the engine can reach 10.500 rpm although i think it would need better new valve spring new valves and maybe a different camshaft.I think this mods could increase the total hp to like 55-60.I wonder though if it would even be reliable for 20.000kms
Thailand and vietnam produce quite numbers of tuned proudct for benelli, but i dont think they shipped out. Nevertheless benelli engine quality is really bad
well maybe you are right about the quality but i have heard horror stories for ktms i personally own a ktm duke 125 never broken down it has 48.500 kms most of them above 7.000 rpms a lot of highway doing 110 to 118 kms/h the only time the bike complained was 1 time when it burned the regulator and the dynamo (electric generator) at the same time cost around 120 euros to fix
One of the biggest reasons this bike gets criticised for is just the fact that China is behind it. And it is obvious wester market doesn't like that. This bike's flaws ( high rpm at 150km, vibrations etc.) can be fixed easily without spending much.
Hi! Great review. If I don't misunderstand you, you're 193cm tall? I'm 191cm tall and I wonder how would feel the knees in the driving position of this bike. Never had the chance of sit nor ride a TRK so coud you tell me if it will be comfortable for me for a long trip for example? Greetings from Argentina
Hi Pablo, both me and my friend Ondrej (195 cm) consider this bike very comfortable and I can easily imagine to ride this one for a longer trip. Especially when I keep in mind this is "just" 500cc motorcycle, which are usually smaller. Only strange thing is the position of the rear brake lever. You must put right foot to strange position to actually push the brake, so there is I guess place for improvement.
Hi! Thanks :) I use RODE Smartlav+ microphon in the helmet but I need to record to my phone and then synchronize the audio with the gopro. It is embarrassing but it would not work directly in GoPro. Oh I saw you are shooting videos about electric bikes, I will watch them soon as it is an interesting topic. Where are you from?
Hello Erick, probably the biggest strentgh of this bike would be the comfort it offers. Even for two passengers it is really comfortable. It has a nice wide seat, very good protection against the wind. Some people can also the like the character of the engine which little bit reminds the BMW F700GS.
So which one you recommend, this bike or the cb500x. I personally love both but this one looks nicer than the 500x. Tomorrow I am going to a dealer to see one.
Benelli has more interesting design and more value for the price (it has more accessories). Honda is lighter, can be cheaper in the long-term but this does not need to be true. As Honda CB500X is a best-seller there is massively huge community and lots of aftermarket parts for this bike. Also these two engines behave little bit different (due to different firing), so the vibrations, sound and torque curve is different. I would have hard time myself when choosing one of these :) Good luck and let me know what you've picked.
JF Motorcycles Hi. Thanks a lot for you reply and advice. Yes, the Honda has that advantage, parts, aftermarket acessories etc and yes might become cheaper with time. Looks do matter but it is also important to think of the rest. Take care
Seems like a Volvo of the motorcycling world. I'm sure this would be an excellent machine for the American (and increasingly UK) "Prepper Culture" where "society collapses" and you have to go and live in your own "Gite" i.e. countryside hideaway. Agricultural weight and build, but so long as it's reliable ...
Some Italian bikes struggle with resell value, but I am not familiar with the situation with TRK 502 unfortunately. I think there is very high demand for these bikes, especially in Asia, so it may not be that bad.
The R&D, innovations, design and everything connected is actually made here in Italy in Benelli. I am pretty satisfied with my mobile phone, computer, camera and loads of other stuff made in China :) It does not need to be that bad :)
JF Motorcycles when major companies like sony manufacture in China they are in control of the whole process but my belief is benelli have been brought by a Chinese firm for use of the name the Chinese are running it and manufacturing it not the same as some one like sony manufacturing a product in China it will be interesting to see how many of these bikes are still running in 5 years time
6 ปีที่แล้ว
They could drop the Benelli sticker and it would still be a nice bike. Chinese companies have started to lose the fear of using their own names, which is good. Soon we'll have as many options as there are with phones (Xiaomi, ZTE, Huawei and hundreds of others) that sell and work better than the more expensive traditionally branded options.
You are forgetting that the Chinese will make anything you want to any specification you request. Benelli are making products that are affordable, yet still good quality. They are also now jointly owned by another conglomerate that makes quality products.
Iñigo Zapata sounds like Chinese propaganda when the Chinese need cutting edge military tec they buy off the Russians they recently announced that they have just managed to make a decent ball point pen if someone wants to buy a Chinese motor bike good luck with that
Could have been a good bike, but NOPE! they are doing what ALL manufacturers are doing. The Benelli scrambler is 170kg dry. This is basically the same bike EXCEPT it weighs 40kg more. Does a slightly bigger tank and some different plastics really weigh 40kg?????????? Because obviously what we want from a low powered ADV is a huge amount more weight? Why isn't anyone pointing that out!! It could have been ok at a similar weight. As it is why would you buy one of these when you can buy a second-hand DL650 and have another 15hp. Did they make it massively heavy so it didn't embarrass the ridiculous 250kg ADVs.
6:50 😯 doesn't have any off road capability.......😧 I thought it was an adventure bike. 😢 well that's disappointing. Cb500x with rally raid upgrades wins I'm afraid to say , would be a better option.
Seems to me you started off far too overly influenced by the highly critical MCN review. (Incidentally, MCN's review of the bike has been highly criticised by most road testers). It comes across that the more you rode it, the more you enjoyed it. Ride safe.
I think that performance of the engine is ok, but power/weight ratio is not perfect with having 235 kg of mass. It seems that on Leoncino it could be better.
I'd think so too. My bike is a 180Kg 650cc, also parallel twin. with 235Kg you need way more grunt. The Leoncino is smaller. would be fine there. cheers
:) It has been some time I've reviewed this, but next week I am getting brand new TRK502X and my first impressions are very positive. There are still possible better choices, but I see really an improvement in handling. Let's see next week.
Cannot even understand why idiots would choose trk 502 over cb500x. The only excuse I'll accept is that there is no CBX imported in your country. Other than that all are just excuses.... Quality on the cbx is unmatched The only + that trk has is its size . It looks like over 800cc And that's why its preferred Because idiots like to show off. Its just a nice CHEAP bike that costs more than it should. Honda worth every penny
ae70gts bruh the cb costs 1k € more. If someone is in the market for a 6k motorcycle 1k is a lot more. And, personal opinion, the cb 500x looks garbage. Another story is the NC750, but the price rise a lot.

Wish this was around when I was learning, pity the motor doesnt have a 270 degree crankshaft to give the motor some personality.
carb weight?
For 6k usd it seems good value considering the africa twin is over double the price.
Take care
Heart:Trk
Mind : CBX

I love that bike, beautiful and best value of money 😍👍
Seems like a Volvo of the motorcycling world. I'm sure this would be an excellent machine for the American (and increasingly UK) "Prepper Culture" where "society collapses" and you have to go and live in your own "Gite" i.e. countryside hideaway. Agricultural weight and build, but so long as it's reliable ...
As a Chinese,I think 650mt which is made by CFmoto sells better then this one in China. But it's just my feeling.
I wish I can test CF Moto 650 one day. I guess there are also big plans from this brand to the future, so fingers crossed. Thanks for comment.
Tires look tiny???
This bike looks like the BMW F750gs. Everyone hates this bike but loves that one. These reviewers need to get their heads out of their asses.
What about the resell value? I cant imagine that there big desire for this brand
Some Italian bikes struggle with resell value, but I am not familiar with the situation with TRK 502 unfortunately. I think there is very high demand for these bikes, especially in Asia, so it may not be that bad.
It is a marriage for life if you can live with it.
Why all benelli bikes are so heavy ?
Good bike.as long you enjoy your ride.
Kindly tell me benelli trk 502 engine oil no. ????????
10W40, 3.2liters IIRC.
As i see it its just a Chinese bike with Benelli written on it i work in engineering and everything I've ever worked on made in China is truly awful
The R&D, innovations, design and everything connected is actually made here in Italy in Benelli. I am pretty satisfied with my mobile phone, computer, camera and loads of other stuff made in China :) It does not need to be that bad :)
JF Motorcycles when major companies like sony manufacture in China they are in control of the whole process but my belief is benelli have been brought by a Chinese firm for use of the name the Chinese are running it and manufacturing it not the same as some one like sony manufacturing a product in China it will be interesting to see how many of these bikes are still running in 5 years time
They could drop the Benelli sticker and it would still be a nice bike.
Iñigo Zapata sounds like Chinese propaganda when the Chinese need cutting edge military tec they buy off the Russians they recently announced that they have just managed to make a decent ball point pen if someone wants to buy a Chinese motor bike good luck with that
where is this? so nice view.
Where is this nice place?
Is this Portugal or maybe spain?
Spain - Gran Canaria :)
JF Motorcycles cool.
Gran Canaria is not Spain
It is very much Spain.
Im kicking myself for getting a Himalayan a week ago rather than this. I found a really good deal.. gotta stop online shopping and move on.
BMW F 750 GS: 227 kg and only 15 liter tank..🤔
Italian company??
Exactly looks like benelli tnt250 with bore up packages and adventure fairing
6:50 😯 doesn't have any off road capability.......😧 I thought it was an adventure bike. 😢 well that's disappointing. Cb500x with rally raid upgrades wins I'm afraid to say , would be a better option.
WICKEDLEE LOOPY tires and rims are almost from street bikes, but is coming one with 19” front tire with full off road specs
The cb500x doesn't have any off-road capability either without mods
Seems to me you started off far too overly influenced by the highly critical MCN review. (Incidentally, MCN's review of the bike has been highly criticised by most road testers). It comes across that the more you rode it, the more you enjoyed it. Ride safe.
Hi Iniak, thanks for your comment :) I am now working on an in-depth review of the Benelli TRK 502X. This one should be better I believe :)
Good stuff, JF. I look forward to it.
Well one of the worst reviews I have seen about the Benelli..I love it..a lot of nonsense said here
Easy now. You stutter to much.
English is not his native language...i would guess it on Czech...
Good review for poor performing bike .. I guess the low price is a Big determinant here explaining its nature, ie China-made ...
Thank you for the comment! :)
The view 👌👌😍
Is benelli Italian or Chinese
Benelli was bought by Chinese company Qianjiang who also owns Lotus.
I have had this bike and no issues with quality in the first 7500 miles.
213kg wet weight, surely?
Love the design and performance
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is not review this is somthing else
Well made in China we could expect much. 235kg it seems to me a lot for a 500cc! No Thanks I passed it
No it s the reliability that is the problem
Kerb weight, not carb weight! 😂
nice view
If anyone is looking for this bike I highly highly recommended getting a Honda cb500x instead. It does what this bike tries to do
Thats a load of bull….typical comment of somebody who is afraid to try something new. Stay in the boring lane by all means….
Little power, too much Weight, not low price, r1200gs looks, NO THANX
...performance wise... it's a 500cc engine.. with 47cv HP, can't expect more from it I think
I think that performance of the engine is ok, but power/weight ratio is not perfect with having 235 kg of mass. It seems that on Leoncino it could be better.
I'd think so too. My bike is a 180Kg 650cc, also parallel twin. with 235Kg you need way more grunt. The Leoncino is smaller. would be fine there.
cheers
This guy is talking about chinese stuff bad, but the brakes bcz they're italians they're good !! Well its not always the case
Die geht weg wie warme Semmeln - für das Geld... 🙄
Mr.Anti benelli guy
My God, what an ugly bike. Fire hydrant engine, body that's all points and sharp angles, teapot muffler. Blecch.
:) I respect your opinion. Thanks for comment.
how about editing your vid.......my wife was pissed when all of a sudden the VOLUME BLARED!!!!!!!
Benelli bikes are very weird
I sort of like the Leoncino and I see how huge community is about the Benelli TRK 502... I guess there is a reason for it :)
curb weight...
Short answer, yes.
There must be better budget buys.
:) It has been some time I've reviewed this, but next week I am getting brand new TRK502X and my first impressions are very positive. There are still possible better choices, but I see really an improvement in handling. Let's see next week.
SHITE !!!
This bike looks like some idiots make it.
It is a subjective thing. It is very successfull globally and that's mainly because of combination design and affordable price I think
@molmotor chbanlk
Cannot even understand why idiots would choose trk 502 over cb500x.
The only excuse I'll accept is that there is no CBX imported in your country.
Other than that all are just excuses....
Quality on the cbx is unmatched
The only + that trk has is its size .
It looks like over 800cc
And that's why its preferred
Because idiots like to show off.
@@pierb2848 agreed, the cb 500x just doesn't look as good as the trk 502
The build quality of Benelli is terrible. That tells you a lot about the rest of the bike. Sure its affordable but is that what you look for?
Lost you at uhhhhhhhh
Made in China
KTM Dukes 390 are made in India, the honda CBR 650F is manufactured in Thailand and nobody says a thing
Kawasaki while headquartered in Japan has made models in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines for years and has even had a plant in the US since the 70's.
Ducati and BMW made in Wakanda and nobody doubt it...
RandyArmy Most of the products are manufactured in China including iPhones....So STFU
Dude... you jumped a STOP, failed to YIELD and were over the speed limit the whole video...
Diego AG ahh come on, you're no fun
