- A compilation of over 100 different police cars known as 'Armed Response Vehicles' filmed responding with bull horn, siren and lights in England and Wales.
Armed Response Vehicles (ARV) are staffed by police officers who routinely carry guns throughout the use of their duty (Authorised Firearms Officers) and are available 24/7, 364 days a year.
These teams respond to incidents involving firearms, knives, terrorism and other forms of serious or organised crime - supporting police offices who aren't armed (the majority of officers in the UK).
ARVs may also assist fire and rescue services and ambulance crews with a wide variety of other emergencies such as traffic collisions and serious medical trauma.

It's from 2015, and the car is from 2009!
8:23 what role does this vehicle play?
Mainly to transport AFOs from their base to patrol location - either an airport or diplomatic building. You can't really regard it as an ARV as such because it's not intended to respond to spontaneous firearms incidents and isn't an advanced vehicle.

I can hear emergency sirens in my house five blocks away. But in my car the emergency vehicle is about 100m behind before I hear it! How about a more direct ahead acoustic system? Not everywhere else!

I’m from the United States so I don’t know much about Europe but why is there a steady blue light in the back of the light bars in police cars and ambulances now?
I believe its for traffic cameras during emergency calls, the constant blue will always show up if camera is operated by emergency vehicles, while on an emergency call.

A few examples of bad driving procedure by the Met, forcing other vehicles through red lights. The law is that you DO NOT go through a red light unless directed to do so by a police officer & a police vehicle with lights/horn/siren sounding & it's driver pointing/waving/shaking his hand at you immediately behind you DOES NOT constitute being directed to by a police officer.
I should think that if that driver got fined that the Met would cover the costs. The hurry he was in makes me think someone had just been sh*t
