Thanks mate means a lot. Went up to loch Long right after seeing ur winter fishing video. Did blank however😂 but will definitely be back up to give another go.
@@PringlesRodandReel Yeah man, don’t know what it is with that loch, it’s a hit or a miss, I think it’s just your luck sometimes! Looking forward to some more content mate, keep it up!! 🤘🏻
Troll at a slower speed for salmon - almost at lowest revs the engine can do. When you hit a good fish, don't touch engine, take in the other two rods and when that's done, put the engine into neutral and tighten on your fish. If you had hit a salmon, total carnage near the boat with three lines in the water. Even with a net, reel in the spare rods.
@@PringlesRodandReel It's very difficult to overcome that instinct all right. I still screw up and I'm at it a while. What is certain is that a salmon will do exactly what you don't want it to do unless you're using 30lb line and can haul it in which is not much fun and not great for the fish But if the engine is at a nice slow speed, it will keep tension in the fish and buy time while you reel everything else in - without pulling the hook even though it might be stripping line. Fill the reel to the edge and that's not an issue. Every lake is different in terms of trolling speed but I've found the slower the better up until July/July. If you can get your hands on a Rapala Scatter Rap, holographic perch, buy it. Hard to find. Best trolling lure for salmon I've ever seen in Irish loughs. It runs at 6/8 ft. Trout love it too. Can't be much different in Scotland.
I know, didn’t want to chance it. part of the signed waver was to stay 50 feet/ metres away from bank (can’t quite remember the exact distance) but wasn’t allowed to get to close. Noticed some other boats being a lot closer but was just trying to get used to it all. Appreciate the knowledge tho
Awesome. Loch Tay is beautiful. Nice fishing!
Great video mate, lovely looking fish 🤘🏻🎣

Yes thank you for the advice. Instinct to just grab the rod as soon as I see the fish take but will definitely do that next time👍🏻

Bro goes fishing
U know the score
Your trolling too far out. You need to be about 30 yards from the ban all the way up.
