I think the AFRs will do better bro. Port geometry seems like it would be better to me. With them bigger intake ports on the edelbrock heads the cross section of the runner prolly gets necked down before it gets to the valve. I’m no cylinder head expert just my .02 from porting a lot of heads 😂
I’m thinking the same I seen what the afr165 head’s supposed to flow out the box but edlebrock don’t have much info out on the performer 170 heads. I do know the AFRs make more power vs them though. I do agree with you though and the casting has ridges in the ports on the edelbrock heads
The casting definitely is ruff on them so that would help a lot, but would it make it flow similar to the afr165s ? And install what over the n41 cam ? I just got it cause it’s more streetable vs the old x303 cam I had.

170 heads,, i,d port the ports, since they are rough,install newest blend over the n41 cam...ride on that..
